Dr.Lin is Amazing!

WORTH IT

When a woman hears word mastectomy most of us associated it with scary pictures of big scars and your beautiful breasts gone forever. Yes, there are some brave women that take pictures and proudly wear their scars like battlefield medals and I admire that. It is a battle and all survivors are heroes! But I’m not that strong! I wanted to continue to look the way I always looked.

I’m not going to go into details about my breast cancer, even though I talk to everyone I meet about importance of monthly self breast exams, early diagnostics and the right path of treatment, but this is not the place. I want to talk about Dr.Lin!

Of how gentle and kind he is, of how he makes you feel reassuring that everything is going to be fine! Of how amazing his hands are! And of a beautiful work that he does!

He’s one of the few surgeons in Boston area that will have one step breast reconstruction! ( one surgery when breast surgeon removes breast tissue and a plastic surgeon put implants in) If you are a right candidate, you can save your nipples, skin and have beautiful breast that not only will look good under clothes, in bathing suit, but also when you are naked!

THANK YOU DR. LIN!!!

My cancer doctor does not understand the importance of looking like myself - for myself. I've had to firmly advocate to save my nipples. This includes asking questions about how to perform the mastectomy surgery with an eye toward saving perforator vessels that supply blood to the nipple/areola area. Fortunately, my plastic surgeon understands my desire to look the same (as much as this is possible) after all is finished.
