After a devastating experience with a previous surgeon, Dr. Taneja gave me something I had almost lost: hope.
My breast revision and reconstruction journey took place over two surgeries spaced about six months apart. From the very first consultation, Dr. Taneja showed a level of empathy, compassion, and genuine concern that immediately set him apart. After being treated like a number by my previous surgeon, a very well-known and highly sought-after surgeon in Miami, I felt completely dismissed whenever I raised concerns. Despite his reputation, I often felt unheard and overlooked. Dr. Taneja was the exact opposite. He made me feel seen, heard, understood, and respected from the very first consultation.
My prior surgeon completely ignored my wishes and removed an enormous amount of my natural breast tissue. Before having children, I had a breast lift here in Los Angeles with only 275cc implants and was still well over a DD cup. After breastfeeding two children, I was approximately a 36G/H. Despite repeatedly expressing that I wanted to maintain a fuller look, the previous surgeon reduced me to roughly a full C cup with moderate profile 425cc implants. I felt completely unlike myself. He removed so much tissue that it resulted in extensive scar tissue, lumps, bumps, deformities, and significant emotional distress. I never wanted to be that small, and I was devastated by the outcome.
The damage went far beyond size alone. My implant pockets were severely compromised, causing my implants to migrate toward my armpits and the sides of my ribcage. My areolas were also completely mishandled. They were reduced to nearly dime size and positioned so high on my breasts that they would pop out of almost every top and swimsuit I wore. The shape was irregular, portions of the pigment never fully returned, and they no longer looked natural. The result was so severe that I ultimately had to undergo cosmetic areola tattooing, the same type of restorative tattooing often performed for mastectomy patients, just to make them look normal and balanced again. I was also left with extensive scarring and necrosis concerns that were largely dismissed. It was a traumatic experience both physically and emotionally.
Dr. Taneja approached my case with incredible care, honesty, and attention to detail. He developed a staged plan that prioritized rebuilding my foundation correctly before focusing on size. During the first surgery, he performed a full pocket enclosure, removed scar tissue and cysts, revised significant scarring, corrected the position of my areolas, and restored the structural support that had been lost. He also removed many of the terrible scars left behind by the previous surgeon. I won’t sugarcoat it—the pocket enclosure was one of the most painful surgeries I’ve ever experienced—but it was absolutely worth it.
Even after the first surgery, I became emotional because the improvement was already a world of difference from what I had been living with. What meant even more was seeing how genuinely happy Dr. Taneja was for me. He cared. He understood what this journey had been like, and he was invested in helping me heal both physically and emotionally. He repeatedly reassured me that we would continue working together until I was happy, and he truly meant it.
The second surgery involved exchanging my implants and increasing the size once my breast pockets had healed properly. We ultimately chose saline implants because it was the best option for my anatomy and goals. For the first time in years, I felt like my body reflected what I had originally wanted all along. Dr. Taneja restored the fullness I had lost and helped me feel like myself again.
The entire staff was wonderful throughout the process. Every person I encountered was kind, professional, and supportive. A special thank you to Edith, who was incredibly helpful during recovery and always made me feel cared for whenever questions or concerns came up.
I also had lip filler performed by Dr. Taneja’s injector, Ashley, and she was equally amazing. She was gentle, kind, attentive, and incredibly talented. I love my results.
My journey was long, emotional, and far more complicated than it ever should have been. But thanks to Dr. Taneja, I finally feel like myself again. He not only repaired the physical damage left behind by another surgeon, but he restored my confidence after one of the most difficult experiences of my life.
