WORTH IT
I first saw Dr. Ali in the spring of 2015 after I was diagnosed with breast cancer (Stage III Invasive Lobular Carcinoma). I was scheduled to have a bilateral mastectomy, and we discussed reconstruction options. After sufficient time healing from my bilateral mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, I underwent a left latissimus dorsi flap with bilateral tissue expanders. Following the expansion process I had the expanders exchanged for Natrelle Inspira high profile round silicone implants.
Finally, I had 3D nipple tattoos done by Brandie, who is an aesthetician in his office. She did a great job and made me feel very comfortable. I chose the tattoos rather than reconstructed nipples simply because I like to go without a bra.
Many people outside the breast cancer community said to me “hey you get a boob job.” No, it’s not a boob job. Breast reconstruction is not augmentation, it’s rebuilding from the ground up and Dr. Ali can pretty much work miracles. I could not be more pleased with my results. It was a long road but so well worth it in the end. Dr. Ali and his staff are caring and compassionate and treated me like family. I will be forever grateful for such a positive experience during one of the hardest times in my life.

No, it's not a boob job! I'm going in for the same surgery soon. Really concerned about having back issues after latissimus dorsi flap surgery. Do you have any discomfort or pain as a result of this procedure?
