Breast Lift Revision: the effect it can have on your confidence is priceless.

Dr. Rahban is an incredibly detail-oriented, informed plastic surgeon who fuses artistry and skill to deliver stunning results. I traveled to him from the east coast for a revision of a breast lift after having one done by another surgeon 3 years ago. I was really unhappy with the way I scarred and also thought the shape and form could improve. The original surgeon I went to, I thought he was going to be excellent and seemed to really care for the concern of scar appearance a patient may have. I want to emphasize this to highlight the difficulty there can be in finding the right plastic surgeon. He was board certified, he did have pictures of great results, and he was very kind. It can be very tiresome to navigate through all that is out there who all seem to promise amazing results and take your concerns to mind. After searching for hours for a surgeon to see for a revision, I discovered Dr. Rhaban. I am really thankful to have found him and so happy with my revision results thus far at six months out. What initially struck me about Dr. Rahban when I began researching for my revision were his other raving reviews, the extensive photo gallery he offered of his results, and his approach to plastic surgery. I would like to go in some detail about this because I believe it is very important.-Reviews are definitely a part of the research for the right plastic surgeon! Dr. Rahban had raving reviews that all described his transformative results. -Dr. Rahban’s photo gallery was extensive. In hindsight, this was part of my mistake the first time around. The last surgeon did not have a strong collection of photos of their results for breast lifts. The results he had public looked great, but there were not many. Dr. Rahban has a large gallery of each type of procedure he does.-He has a very honest, intelligible approach to plastic surgery. I discovered his podcast, Plastic Surgery Uncensored, and was able to discern his experience, wisdom, and approach in the field. I highly recommend checking it out if you are considering him as your plastic surgeon or just want more information on plastic surgery in general. When meeting with Dr. Rahban, he really listened to all my concerns and met them with knowledge and understanding. As I mentioned, my major concern has always been the scarring. I think it is such an important aspect when considering a breast lift or breast reduction because the scars are typically very apparent with them. With Dr. Rahban, I learned how crucial the style of closing during surgery is with the way one heals. The first time around I did not think much of this. I am 24 years old with VERY fair skin, and I thought I would scar ideally because that was the assumption I held about fair skin and scarring from what I had been told. But like he talks about, that’s not always the case and who closes you and the detail and time they put towards it influences the way you heal, and therefore scar, significantly. My last surgeon gave me this expensive scar regimen to follow after the surgery. I learned from Dr. Rahban but also my own experience and research (I’m talking reading several published research articles) how ineffective a lot of these products and treatments are, especially months out from healing. His approach to healing and scar management is very straightforward and backed by research. 
The next topic I wanted to touch on was the expense. My cost for the procedure was high and much more than I expected. I spent months and months saving so I could afford the best plastic surgeon I could find so this was not a simple expense for me. I really had to think it through especially after having had the procedure done already. Some of the things that I thought about when making the decision was the time and energy Dr. Rahban puts towards his work. I believe this explains the cost because in the surgery room you know he is not rushing through it and quality comes from the time and effort spent towards the work and that is reflected in Dr. Rahban’s results. I believe this is one of the main things that set him aside from other plastic surgeons. Another point I considered is how expensive medical surgeries typically are. Although I would hope anyone in need of one would have the proper health insurance, and cosmetic surgery is different in that it is a choice, it still helped me to make sense of spending so much on my procedure. (I needed some rationalization!) But truly, spending a lot for the best results of something that will impact my body forever no longer felt as daunting. My last point is that the effect it can have on your confidence is priceless. I believe it is important for one’s wellbeing to feel good and confident in their appearance. This does not mean this always must be achieved through plastic surgery, though! But personally, I can say my breasts have been a part of how I experience my sexuality and confidence and getting an upgrade has taken these things to new depths! One of the things Dr. Rahban told me during my consultation was that no matter what I will be able to say I did the best I could by going to him to improve my scars and the general appearance. I truly believe that this time and that is so important when getting any work done so you don’t have to follow it with a revision! I was not expecting much improvement with the form and shape, but my areolas have been reduced to a more compatible size with the rest of my breast and I am very happy with them.
