Tuberous Breasts Corrected with Breast Augmentation and Mastopexy

The Real Results: 3 Years and 2 Months later

WORTH IT

Appearance:

My breasts have a round shape underneath the nipple from the implants which is the main feature I wanted to achieve.

They have settled more into their pockets, meaning that the cleavage is less, as my natural anatomy meant that my breasts and pockets were further away from each other. I opted for low profile round implants, because I wanted this more natural look - usually people cannot tell I have implants, I get asked occasionally when I am wearing something low-cut that squishes them together because this makes it a bit more obvious.

Although my right breast had a slightly smaller implant to try and combat this - it still hangs a bit lower and larger than my left breast, but its only slight and pays compliment to my natural anatomy, which doesn't bother me.

Scarring:

My scarring and nipples are less bright and pink/raw now, the nipples are a nice dark pink/orangey colour to match my skin tone, and the scars have healed white. I gave naturally olive skin so I think the scars appear quite light due to the contrast. The scars from the incisions underneath the breasts are very difficult to spot, and they sit in the crease anyway.

Sensation:

I have some nerve damage, which is definitely something to consider when you're weighing up the benefits and risks of the procedure.

Funnily enough my right nipple has healed with more sensation than it ever had before. Its quite sensitive but that's a good thing for me personally.

In contrast, my left nipple is still completely numb to any stimuli touching the surface of my skin. However, when it is squeezed or pulled I feel a deep nerve pain from somewhere inside.

Furthermore, the skin on the southern hemispheres of both of my breasts is completely numb.

Overall:

I am very happy with the appearance of my breasts and they have greatly improved my confidence. The results are amazing given my natural anatomy, so many thanks to my Plastic Surgeon.

I have just spotted a mistake in my review but I am unsure how to edit it. Here it mentions I opted for teardrop implants, but I definitely got round implants in the end.

Hi there, I just wanted you to know that we've updated your text to include the edit you mentioned about your round implant - if you would like help with anything else please let us know via contactus@realself.com, and thanks for updating your experience!

Almost 6 months post-op

As you can see from the pictures my implants have now settled nicely into their pockets. They have more of a natural droop now which is perfect for me because I wanted the natural look. My nipples have healed slightly asymmetrical but this was to be expected as they were very different to begin with and the surgeon cannot predict how much they will stretch when they heal. The surgeon said nipple revision surgery could be an option in the future, but this doesn't bother me. The scarring is pretty much non-existent! They are still a little pink but starting to turn white now and blend into my skin tone. I'm over the moon with the results.

Pain-wise I still experince a little bit of pain when lying on my breasts or putting pressure on them e.g. A tight hug! But I do have a very low pain threshold (mardy bum). Otherwise everything is back to normal. I have no sensation in my nipples and the lower half of my breasts, it is numb to the touch, although I do feel the odd twinge, hopefully the sensation will return in the coming months.

If you have any questions please send me a comment or a message and I'll be happy to answer them. :)

Great results. I also had slightly tuberous breasts and the fix and shape difference is incredibly clever:)

1 month post-op

I’m one month post-op today. I no longer need dressings or steri-strips to cover my incisions and they are healing nicely.
I went back to work and started driving at the beginning of week 3 (last week). I have resumed most day to day activities. I kept the site dry for 3 weeks and just cleaned around the area with wipes. This meant I could have hand-held showers with the shower head and get wet from the waist down but I didn’t want to risk any bacteria getting into the site.
As of last week I can shower normally just avoiding using soap in those sites. I no longer need pain killers. I’ll continue to update as the incision sites fully heal.
