3 years post-op & now need breast lift, scar revision & reconstruction

ORIGINAL POST

total nightmare!

I had a breast lift and augmentation with James rough. It was a disaster from the very beginning,
These are my results. Three years later I’m still trying to correct the very expensive problem. It’s going to cost me $15,000 on top of the $3,500 of work I’ve had done. My breast bottomed out and I’m told in order to fix the damage, I need a breast lift, scar revision and possibly the implants removed and one of my areolas was cut smaller than the other plus reconstruction of the breast.
If you’re considering a breast lift and augmentation it’s VERY important for you to do your research and get several consultations and opinions. Several doctors that I’ve talked to don’t offer a breast lift and augmentation done at the same time due to its high risk and dangerous complications, unfortunately James Rough never offered to do one procedure at a time. I have suffered mentally and physically as well and it’s one day at a time for me. Save your money and go elsewhere!!! Beware if there are any complications he won’t help you, he will ignore you and won’t admit to anything. He witnessed my pain and suffering and told me to my face IM NOT A MAGICIAN.Don’t let his kindness in the beginning fool you. RUN!!!

Dear Forceful358645,

Thank you for leaving us a review. Your feedback is important and we rely on hearing from our patients to ensure that we are doing a great job.

I am sorry that you have had such a difficult postoperative course resulting in complications. Despite my best efforts, they, unfortunately, do occur and I wish that they did not. I am disheartened that our frequent discussions and visits including scar revisions, did not meet your needs.

I strive to be as thorough and detailed during my consultations. I realize so much information given can be so overwhelming. I apologize if the impression was given regarding whether or not to stage the procedures. I make a point in highlighting the inherent challenges and risks that these procedures entail, especially when combined.

I hope for the best for you and please take care,

James Rough, MD

James Rough, you scheduled me for a scar revision procedure 2 months in advance. I had a conversation with you prior asking if more scar could be cut out, you said yes. When I showed up for my scar revision, I noticed there was nothing set up for the procedure. I immediately knew something was fishy, you lied to me and said there was nothing more you could do for me and you went as far as to lie saying you would have to cut a big triangle going across my breasts. Stop gaslighting that was not true!! why schedule me for a revision and cause me to take time off work only to lie in the end. I didn’t appreciate Anissa telling me my huge scar didn’t look that bad. I never asked for Anissa’s opinion. I also felt very uncomfortable when you told me you asked Anissa and your wife for their opinions regarding my situation. Only to have second and third opinion’s and finding out there are a quite of few corrections to be made, my quote is $20,000 or more. My breast look like socks with bowling balls. When my breast tore open in the beginning you had Dr. S***** come in the room and he looked at me and said one day you’re going to get married, I know you wouldn’t want your husband to see you that way. That comment haunts me to this day it rings so true. To not have your suffering recognized is an almost unbearable form of violence.

I’ve never had a doctor make me feel unworthy of the care I deserved.

I am so incredibly sorry for what you have gone through and are continuing to go through. Though what I went through with my first augmentation wasn’t as horrible as yours, I still understand where you are coming from and it is absolutely devastating… especially when the surgeon throws salt on the wound by trying to save face and place blame on you. I wish you the best and hope everything can get sorted out.
