WORTH IT
ITS! FINALLY! HAPPENING!!!! EEEEEEEK! Can't believe it. Been researching this for five years at least... some background: I'm 23 years old, usually hover around a BMI of 19-21, and since puberty I have noticed that my boobs just didn't develop...normally. They drooped from the get go, even when they were a small cup size, and my areolas were (still are) disproportionally huuuuge. It was a major source of embarrassment for me growing up, but I also thought that maybe I just didn’t get lucky with perky boobs and that was it. Then I read about tubular breasts for the first time at age 16 and felt so damn validated. Over the years it’s become more and more apparent to me just how different my boobs are, and more importantly how self conscious they make me FEEL…so here I am, after 3 consultations with my doctor since the age of 18, finally ready to take the leap. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at 11 am.

It’s been around 8 hours since I woke up in recovery. No pain at all for the first 4 hours or so, then it went up to 2/10 at most. No nausea either thank God!!! Took small sips of water every few minutes because my mouth was so dry despite the IV. The surgical bra that I bought was the wrong one so a family member went out and got the correct one and….omg. So in awe just looking down at myself. Could not believe that these are my breasts. They’re healing nicely but unfortunately I have a tiny pinprick size bleeding area…hoping it heals well. It’s crazy how simple it was. Years and years of anticipation, fearing the pain, outcome, scarring, everything, and within 3 hours…all done. Feeling extremely grateful!!
My doctor was initially set on an IMF scar so I was quite surprised when he told me he chose the lollipop and that, depending on potential skin bunching, I may need a minor revision. I always wanted a lollipop but thought my drooping was too severe for one.

Pain is hovering between 4 and 6 out of 10, even after taking Tramadol. Slept for 4 hours or so, was wide awake after 7 am. My surgeon saw me and said he’s very happy with how my breasts are looking and that there’s no hematoma! :) got discharged at 1 pm and am resting in bed.
