I am now 40 and 170 pounds. I had a breast augmentation and abdominoplasty in January of 2019. The surgery turned out beautifully but I had gained weight because of a new thyroid issue. My implants were submuscular and I developed ptosis from the weight gain. I decided that I wanted to go bigger (the largest silicone available) and I needed a lift to remedy the ptosis. I originally thought he was just going to attempt a donut lift but once in surgery he made the choice to do a full anchor lift along with the 800cc uhp implants. He made the choice to give me the best possible results for the long term although he knew my worries of scarring. I scar badly. The slightest scratch can leave a permanent scar on me indefinitely. They are going to give me a new scar cream and I pray it works because my husband will think I look like Frankenstein if it doesn't...
I have faith they will look beautiful, if anyone scars badly like me I would be so grateful to know what you used to lessen the scars and how they look a year after. I know the puckering is going to smooth....I hope my areolas are symmetrical post healing! My one week post-op my nurse said I was healing amazing.....she said I looked two weeks post instead of one! If anyone has had anything similar I'd love to hear from you!

I'm trying to keep photo documentation of my healing process on a weekly basis so other patients who scar easily like me might have an idea of what to expect. I know everyone is different and healing is based on MANY factors...nutrition, genetics, supplements, rest, etc....but I will still share my experience. Hope it can help someone.
My 3 week post-op was this last Thursday the 14th. My doctor said everything was looking great and he gave me a silicone scar gel called Silagen. I've been using it according to the instructions and I honestly think this stuff may be the magic potion for scars! I apply it and take the time to massage it into my scars per the instructions of my doctor. One of the most important things to do to help minimize the appearance of scars is massage. I'm feeling positive about the combo of Silagen and massage!!

6 weeks post-op

I cannot tell you how impressed I am at my surgeons suture skill to minimize scarring and the product Silagen!! THIS is ONLY 6 weeks post-op!!!! I've looked at so many images of mastopexy and compare my progress to that of most women at 4-6 months in their healing. I simply cannot sing enough praise of my plastic surgeon and the scarring product Silagen that he gave me post-op. This man is so skilled and intelligent! He knew my worries of scarring pre-op....he knew how I scar easily and they don't go away. Well, he's a plastic surgeon worth every penny. His APRN told me just looking at my 3 week post-op that I would never see my scars once healed and she was right! I am extremely satisfied with the outcome of my breast implant revision and mastopexy! WOW!!!
