Lollipop lift with 305 mod plus implants

After breastfeeding twins for a year, my once perky D cups went to a deflated C. I have been wanting this surgery for 5 years, and have spent countless hours doing research on techniques, doctors, and reviews. I found Dr. Yates on RealSelf, and read every single breast surgery review. After reading countless glowing reviews, I did the virtual consultation, which entailed sending him my before photos and my goals. He emailed back promptly, and said based off my photos and goals, he we recommend a lollipop lift and implants, and gave an estimate for cost. I called his office and scheduled my in-office consultation and surgery. Even before meeting him I knew he was the doctor for me. We drove 5 hours one way to go to his practice in Utah. His office is before and feels very calm and professional. The consultation was perfection. His nurse, Sandy was very kind and helpful. She took me for images, and then we did an exam with Dr. Yates, tried on sizers, and then went to look at images. His software, which shows you a 3D image of your torso with different modifications he can click and change. He showed me what a lift would do, and was able to show me different implant sizes on my body frame. Without his software, I don't know how on earth I would have picked a size. It was beyond helpful, as was his expert advice on what size I should pick, which he was very respectful to only give when asked. At my consultation, his coordinator, Lindsey, informed me that may 9th had just opened up, and it was mine if I wanted it. It was only 5 days away, but I happily said yes!

wow! That's so crazy you got surgery 5 days after your consultation! I had to wait over 3 months! I'm interested to know how close to reality that 3D imaging software was (once you've fully healed). I wonder if that would've helped me get a better idea of size.

Surgery Day

AriesInVenus
I had messaged Dr. Yates on Saturday night, 2 nights before surgery, saying I was unsure about my choice of 275cc implant, and I might want to go slightly bigger. I knew it would be a long shot, seeing how they have to order your implants and it was the weekend. But he replied that although they couldn’t order more, he might have some on hand and we would have to see when I got there Monday morning. Monday morning, we left at 4am to get to the office by 9:15 for check-in. I was sweating bullets, just so nervous about going under the knife, with no idea what size implant I would choose or even have available. Like an anxious energy I couldn’t shake. The nurse called me back and we started preparing for surgery. I told her about being unsure on size, and she brought back in the sizers for me. I tried them on again, and still was stuck between being scared about being too small, but also going to big. I wanted the perfect medium size, that I could dress up, but also dress down. I told the nurse I was still unsure, and she said Dr. Yates could come in and help. I was so relieved when he walked through the door carrying two boxes of implants. The 275cc mod plus they ordered for me, and 305cc mod plus implants. We discussed, and I felt perfect peace about going with 305. It felt kismet. He marked me up, taking great care to make everything perfect, even pulling out a red laser tool to look for the subtle differences in my spine. As he was marking me, he said “this is gonna be a good one. I can tell,” which gave me so much needed peace right before surgery. Then I took some pills, and walked into the OR. In the operating room, the CRNA, Glen, told me everything he was going to do before he did it. He told me he was going to give me numbing before placing the IV needle in my arm. He used the tiniest needle to give me numbing in the area. I was so shocked by the level of care and detail. I told him “that was the most luxurious IV experience I’ve ever had!” They we’re very respectful in the OR to keep me covered the whole time I was awake. And then before I even realized what had happened, I woke up in the recovery room, in no pain at all, just so happy I wanted to cry!

Recovery Day

AriesInVenus
I don’t remember much from the recovery room, and don’t recall the wheelchair ride to the car, or the drive to the hotel. We got there around 1pm. For out of state patients, Dr. Yates has a deal with the Courtyard Merritt. What would have been a $150 hotel room for one night became $109 when I booked and told them I was coming for surgery with him. The hotel was clean and the room was wonderful. My husband set up my wedge pillow, and we both took a big nap. When I woke up, I was comfortable, and so so happy. I started my “rowing” which I did every 30 minutes for 24 hours after surgery, for 1 minute each direction. The rowing really helped me feel loose, and although it was uncomfortable, i think it was the reason I felt so good. I took my meds and watched some TV. By 8pm, I was ready for some sushi, and carefully got back into the car and went to the restaurant with my husband. When we got home around 10pm, I was in some discomfort and ready for more pain reliever. I slept very well, until 6am, when I awoke with some pain. I had slept without waking to take anything, which I can’t recommend. I felt tight and sore. We walked some laps on the hallway, waiting for the meds to work, and doing some rowing, although it was much more uncomfortable than it had been the day before. And then went back to bed. At around 8:30am, Dr. Yates messaged me and asked me how I was doing and feeling, and to send pictures. I was so nervous to take off my bandages and see how gnarly it was, but I was so happily surprised to see almost no blood, and very smooth and meticulously placed steri-strips. I sent pictures, and he said everything looked great, and we could head home.

What is the "rowing"? Arms outstretched, then bringing them in towards your chest? I'm 2 weeks post and am feeling quite stiff, did they help with stiffness?

Rowing is bending your elbows with or hands up towards your shoulders, and then moving your elbows in big circles backwards, and then forwards for one minute each way. If that makes sense? You're elbows draw big circles, and it really helps the pecks stay loose!!

That does make sense! I'm going to start doing that! Thanks :)
