Quick update
Popped on here and thought I would give a quick update. Everything has been going well. About a week or so ago I got a spitting stitch on my left breast in the vertical incision, which you can see in one of the pictures. I called the nurse and they said that it was around the time my sutures are starting to dissolve so this was normal and to clean it and use neosporin on it and watch for infection. It seemed to clear up fine, so hopefully the red spot will start to dissipate as well. Around the same time, both of my breasts started to ache more, especially my right. The nurse also said that it was just more healing and getting a lot of nerve function and sensation back so I take Advil when needed. Other than that everything has been fine and I seem to be healing nicely. I just have to remind myself that it is going to take a long time and to be patient.
11 weeks post surgery
Wow, I didn’t realize I hadn’t posted in so long, but here is an update. I am really starting to feel a lot better and can tell the difference week to week as I continue to heal. I realized a couple weeks ago that I just need to give myself time to heal and let my body adjust. I was pushing a little too hard and had to back off. But I have gotten back into working out, spinning and lifting, while just avoiding any chest lifts. The Dr said it was ok, but I don’t want to push it and am taking it one day at a time. Yesterday was the first day I did ab work as it finally wasn’t uncomfortable.
They have definitely softened up and dropped, although my right still needs time I think. I’m very happy with them, although I feel like my left is slightly bigger than my right, but my husband thinks I’m being too nit picky. The scars are very pink l, but that was expected as m pretty fair skinned. I’ve been using scar cream twice daily since 6weeks postop and will continue to.
I am till wearing some kind of bra at all times, I’m being overly careful, as I want them to continue to heal correctly. Plus, it feels better to take some weight off the scars which are still somewhat tender/sensitive. They feel pretty good, just random tingles and sharp pains here and there. Yesterday my right had an ache that would come and go, but today it is fine. Other than that I am very happy with them and have felt much more confident. And just looking at pictures from the last time I posted, 4weeks, versus today is crazy with how much they have changed!

30 days post op
So I haven’t posted in a while, but I was taking pictures, so I posted those along with ones from today. I hit 4 weeks this last Thursday, today is Saturday, and I’m feeling better every day. I even managed to ride my bike 2 days this week, once for 20 minutes then for 30, and felt good afterwards. I’m going to slowing start back into cardio and some lower leg exercises this week.
My breasts are slowly dropping down, my right is higher and more firm than my left still, but it dropped a little bit this last week. My right breast does seem smaller than my left, but I’m hoping that it will even out as I heal. I am having a lot of tingling sensations in my nipples, which isn’t necessarily painful, but very uncomfortable. I think I pushed myself too hard a couple of times and could feel it when I did. The swelling has now finally gone down enough to where my skin isn’t so tight, but I’m still pretty tender especially on the underside of the breast and close to the incisions. I’m only taking ibuprofen when needed, sometimes just 400 mg in the morning and then I’m good for the rest of the day.
I bought a couple of wireless bras from Victoria’s Secret this past week during their semi annual sale and have been trying to wear those as the compression bra they gave me gets tiresome to wear and I feel like they need to breathe. I had a bralette on earlier but changed back into the compression bra because my breasts and incisions started to ache, and now I feel much better. So I will continue to wear the supportive bras for the most part to make sure I’m getting enough support. Also, I am quite sore/stiff and achy when I get up in the morning but it usually subsided within a few minutes.
I am excited to see my surgeon for my 6 week checkup in a couple of weeks. Everything seems to be healing nicely and my incisions look pretty good and are starting to turn pink. I will probably call the nurses hotline on Monday to see when I should start a scar cream and also to get their thoughts on when and how long I should wear the supportive bra.
