Best Doctor/Surgeon Ever - He Got Me Through
WORTH IT
Let me start my review this way. Upon getting ready to head to my six week post-op appointment with Dr. Rahban after a breast lift (anchor incision lift) and augmentation, I wanted to write Dr. Rahban a hand-written short letter of appreciation. When I wrote “Dear Dr. Rahban,“ I began crying - thee most, ever - happy tears :) definitely ugly crying haha <3 And actually I’m crying right now as I write this, as I am reminded of and thinking about my experience as a whole, from beginning to end. Deciding to move forward with getting plastic surgery is of course a Gigantic, mega, life-changing decision. When I say I had been researching on and off, thinking about getting this procedure for well over ten years, I could easily call myself a “psycho” when it came to research. Scouring the internet of doctors, reading all the reviews, looking at Before and Afters, looking into behind the scenes things, all of it, everywhere in the U.S. I had been praying about this a lot.
I had gone to a few consultations here in Florida, and after seeing Dr. Rahban’s gallery of breast lifts and augmentations and thinking about the procedure for another couple of years, decided to get a consult in LA with Dr. Rahban. After I found Dr. Rahban’s before and after gallery, I found out about his podcast, “Plastic Surgery Uncensored”, as well and listened to it for a couple years. That was very, very helpful to me and helped me have an even better grip on the reality around plastic surgery—Specifically for me, breast surgery, scars, deep diving into the procedures, literally all the important things to know—with no fluff!!!
Dr. Rahban was very clear and informative in my consultation. I did not feel rushed in the slightest. At my previous consults, I felt rushed and like a number, which equals immediate no. Of course.
In LA at my consult, it was like it was the “70’s”. The present-focused with me, his patient, giving me time and answering all of the questions I had. I had in depth questions, too, because I had done my research. It can be overwhelming sharing what we are starting off with, showing our most intimate parts and being vulnerable with our concerns. Of course I was a bit nervous around this but during the consultation I felt completely comfortable, informed, valued, and cared about. I appreciated the time Dr. Rahban took with me, and it was beyond clear he was my doctor. When the consultation was over, I sat with Sally and discussed scheduling. She was a joy—as excited as I was to move forward and get this procedure. We booked a month out. Dr. Rahban also advised me on the best avenue to take during the week of surgery and for follow-ups, as I was traveling back and forth from Florida.
I knew the timing was right. I flew out October 14th and had my surgery the next day. The amount of time I had been praying and researching/thinking about this procedure, I knew it was right—Everything flowed, and I was more excited and ready than anything. The month leading up to surgery, I had “homework” to do. Pick photos of what I liked in terms of size for my augmentation; what looked too large for me, too small, and examples of breast augmentations that were exactly the perfect size for me. To be honest, this was one of the most stressful things, and I started to feel a little extra worried-“What if I pick breasts too big? What if they’re too small, and I regret it?” I have a unique frame. Slim ribcage, a bit broader shoulders. I started going down a bit of a little rabbit hole. When I met with Dr. Rahban the day before surgery, we of course spoke about it. Now-because of the time, the slow consultation with care and knowledge Dr. Rahban gave me, seeing his overall dedication to his craft, and realness as a person, I without one doubt realized I hadn’t needed to have been worrying as much as I had been. I fully trusted him when he had a discussion with me and said he would not put implants in that did not fit my specific frame, even if I asked for it. Nowadays on social media (because I literally watched every video on breast surgery there was, lol) I see women asking the public, “What do you guys think? What size/profile should I get? I don’t want to regret it.” I was surprised that they were choosing their CC’s and profile. I am extremely thankful that I worked with a professional who took the guesswork out for me. It was a collaboration of course, but I trusted him and KNEW I would look AMAZING post-op. The attention to detail from Dr. Rahban couldn’t be more obvious. My mind was at ease. During the consultation, he immediately noticed I had the slightest scoliosis. No one had brought it to my attention before! It would effect sizing and symmetry. Even a tiny bit. I am so happy he noticed that, although minor!
When I went in for surgery, he reminded me to relax- I felt very comfortable, and it was Go-Time. :) The nurses and staff were all so caring and kind. “This should be like buying a new car.” Dr. Rahban reminded me. As soon as I lied down for surgery, I felt I woke up again in the absolute best way to wake up post-op, the anesthesiologists and nurses were smiling, extremely positive, saying I did absolutely great and my breasts looked amazing. Surgery day could not have gone ANY better. The sweetest!! <3 Thank you to all the staff!!!! From the bottom of my heart!
Now for my results, I also could not have asked for a better set of “ladies” (breasts). My scars are fading still but with my skin type I know they will be nonexistent. Of course, I was concerned with scars, the other major topic of plastic surgery. I learned Dr. Rahban closed ALL of the incisions on his operating table. (No tech, no one else, ever.) It is more detailed than people would think, I believe. I learned about the dermis and a little more science behind closing incisions, sutures, and the healing process from the “Plastic Surgery Uncensored” podcast. This initially was a major concern, but at the time of surgery, my mind was at ease, I absolutely say again, because I knew Dr. Rahban knew what he was doing! He referred to himself as a “psycho” perfectionist (jokingly) in the absolute best way possible. It is invaluable. When considering getting plastic surgery of any kind, you want the best of the best. Perfectionist with no shortcuts in the process.
I am also thankful at the amount of follow ups I have post-op, and even one at ten months post-op. Most doctors don’t see patients after a first follow-up, if any. It is not with a tech or PA. It is with my surgeon :) !
He is a gem of a doctor and as a human being—kind and REAL. I love you Doctor Rahban!!!!!! You changed my life.
Thank you to all the staff in the office, Layla helping me get set up and answer all my questions before my consult, Sally for your kind enthusiasm and help (also answering all my many concerns & questions:), the nurses, and everyone for helping me through this process! I am so thankful I chose Dr. Rahban. 10/10 I would recommend! <3
