Disappointing Results

I had a complex case involving significant breast asymmetry and opted for a lift and augmentation. I initially chose Dr. Marks because of her credentials and the positive consultation. She was kind and professional throughout, and my expectations were realistic—I knew perfection wasn’t possible.

The immediate post-op results looked promising. However, as swelling went down and healing progressed, the asymmetry became more obvious—not just in size, but in shape, areola placement, projection, and implant positioning. By five months post-op, it was clear they didn’t even look like they belonged on the same body.

I voiced my concerns and was told this was “as symmetrical as you can get” and that the results were “great.” I was offered an implant exchange on one side and a quote for an additional $7,000. But this plan didn’t address the more serious structural issues I was experiencing.

I sought a second opinion. That surgeon immediately identified major inconsistencies in placement and overall result. We moved forward with a revision surgery less than six months after the original. The revision involved a completely different approach. I had new implants placed over the muscle. which was better suited to my specific anatomy. Additionally, I received internal mesh bra support and another lift. The difference was night and day.

I’m now two months post-op from the revision, and the improvement is undeniable. Despite the challenges of my anatomy and the previous work done, the results are significantly more aesthetically pleasing and symmetrical surpassing my expectations. Seeing what was actually possible made it very clear that my original results were not just “less than perfect,” but fundamentally off in execution.
