Hiiii all!! So I'm just stopping by to drop a little update. Sorry it has been so long, but for my sanity I had to stay away from the app for a little bit because I was getting very frustrated that everyone else is healing faster than me :( I'm on my second week back to work, and my third day driving. Mobility is almost 100% but my incisions are taking FOREVER to heal, i still look like a scab mess. I have to wear nursing pads so I don't stain my bras and clothes with a yellow/brown fluid I still release. Also, I'm still sleeping on my back only, which KILLS ME, I'm so used to sleep on my tummy... but I'm very happy with the size shape!!

I took a while to heal too! I had 2 large open wounds, see my profile. I slept in the recliner for 1 month maybe a few days more. Be patient, is hard but worth it. Good luck w/everything & Happy healing dear! My last update I posted my before and after pics. Thanks for sharing your journey & keep us posted. :)

Thank you so much for your support doll! I'm so glad to hear that you're doing better now. Do you know what caused your wounds to open again? Because it looks like you were all healed and all of the sudden the wounds opened, or maybe I'm wrong?

My incisions opened at the T-junction which is very common in BL/BA surgery. Also I believe my delay in healing has something to do with my diabetes(diagnosed 4-5 yrs ago)although it is very well controlled. I have always been a slow healer. My PS had me use bactroban on my wounds which closed them up pretty darn quick. However they were open for several weeks. It was very frustrating, depressing and almost made me question myself for doing the surgery. My PS said my body wasn’t absorbing the sutures and that’s why I was spitting sutures for so long. I def was an odd case for him but he was so supportive, professional, uplifting and all around wonderful throughout the whole ordeal! I’m happy to have found RS and love the support we all give to one another! :)

Totally understand how you feel girl! I wasn’t healing as well also.. I wasn’t posting as frequent because I mentally needed to step away and focus on healing! You will get there and soon be wearing bras without babying them! I’m still wearing my surgical bra still most times but at least all my incisions are closed. Good luck!!

And yes it’s annoying I can’t just roll over on my side and tummy to sleep!:( I can lay on my side for a little bit but have to prob myself with my arm.. and when I wake up it tends to be somewhat sore. That’s AFTER all my incisions closed.

More of a question than an update... for how long did you guys sleep sitting up before going flat on the bed like a normal person? I've been having the hardest time sleeping sitting up for this long now.

How long did your PS tell you you needed to sleep in this position? Every PS has their own protocol on this matter. So please note my answer is not intended to be any kind of instruction or medical advice. My own PS instructed me to sleep in a 45° angle for my first 7 days post op. I know others here that were instructed to sleep on their back for longer periods of time.

Got to say this is where the pain meds and muscle relaxers came in handy. I didn’t have a whole lot pain since I had “overs”. So my primary reason for using them was just to get to sleep at night. LOL. Of course since I have a sensitive stomach I was also careful not to take them right before I went to sleep. I always ate a little something with my pain meds and sat up for at least 30 minutes every time taking them.

Have you tried putting a pillow under each arm? That helped me as it provided stability also preventing me from shifting from side to side. And stability helps with sleep. :-)

So today I called the Dr to ask about my "blister" and his assistant said that I just had an allergic reaction to the tape, so Mdlg5, you're we're absolutely right! You're a pro at this lol But she said nothing to worry about, and there's nothing to do about it, it will get better on its own (back to the nonchalant attitude that gives me anxiety).
Also, the blister kinda "popped" over night yay!
I'm not gonna lie, last night, I looked at aaaall of your guys' Day 7 pictures and all the boobs look so pretty and clean and for some reason mine are stuck in the ugly stage ;( but I guess, I'm just "that case" that is taking longer to heal and why not... and I just gotta be patient. I love the shape! But the incisions look so ugly. Also, I'm gonna try sleeping sitting up in my bed for the first time since my surgery, just because I feel bad that my boyfriend refuses to sleep upstairs without me, so wish me luck!
Also, the Dr asked me to start massaging the boobs, any advice on how to do it?

Wohoo Thats good that the blister poped! Was it painful? Im glad its just an allergic reaction! Im always amazed on the ability of our body to heal itself. I went to frankin boobs to clean boobs like overnight. You will be amazed too! How long will the stripes be on? Oh and i cant help you with the massage because my doctors nurse massaged my boobs twice a week... but she massaged with vitamin e oil for a few minutes with circular moves ... nothing too abruptly!! But i bet the more experienced girls can tell more... they're truly amazing and helpful! Happy healing!

Hi! I didn't feel when it popped, it was great lol The Dr told me not touch the tape and let it fall on its own. Well that's a very nice service to have a nurse massage them for you, maybe I should've gone to Brazil to do this! Haha
