Not Nearly Informative Enough

So, I just want to start by saying this is a honest genuine review of my experience. I don't usually write reviews, but with something as big as surgery on your body, I felt it was important to share.

I have been interested in getting a breast implants, and possibly a lift - but I wasn't decided which was best or right for me. I searched around and started by booking two consultations with different offices. Since Dr. Martin Jugenburg is a well-known surgeon in Toronto, and often shares his work on social media, I felt like I should book with him and had high hopes. First of all, his consolation fee is $200 whereas some other offices charge $100-$200 (totally fine, its all apart of it). Expect - I was scheduled to meet with the Nurse, not a surgeon at all. To be honest, I felt like this was a bit of a rip off. after all, I was paying for the professional opinion of the surgeon I would end up paying about $20,000 to operate on my body.

So I decided to go with the flow and just see how it goes - maybe it would go better than I thought and I would leave feeling confident. I ended up meeting with Nurse Kim. She was a very sweet person, I could tell. Although I felt pretty disappointed and confused when she started raving about saline when I had mentioned I was interested in silicone implants. She told me her daughter has them and they're the best when getting a lift, yada yada. Once I mentioned again - no, I really want silicone, it then seemed like she changed the direction of the conversation to debate silicone vs saline. I feel like this took up a lot of time and I ended up not being able to continue on from it. They then gave me implants to try on. I showed Inspo pictures and they gave me 415 & 450cc silicone implants. Not once did they explain anything about my options to have implants vs implants & a lift. They never once explained what my chest would look like with implants under, or above the muscle, OR what the RIGHT sizing would be for my personal measurements etc. (I have one breast that sits lower than the other, so I would benefit from having one implant slightly larger if it creates better symmetry)*information a different surgeon provided

SO, I left and felt excited that I got to try on sizers and because it was the first step in getting closer to having my surgery, but I also felt more confused than before. I felt like I was just told I can have whatever I want and they will happily take my money. I didn't feel like this was a personal consult at all. I feel like I just walked into a implant sales store, if anything. This made me feel very uncomfortable, and disappointed that I spent $200 on THAT.

I ended up continuing with my next consult later in the week. I can not tell you how different these appointments were. First of all, I was scheduled to meet the surgeon that would be operating on me. He started by asking me what my preferences were and how I felt about my goals. He explained everything about implants from A-Z without stating his own personal preference (this took the pressure off me and allowed me to know the facts solely and make a decision on what I like best). He also explained what my options were in terms of Implants, or Implants and a lift. He showed me sizing charts and explained the measurements of my chest and what the right implant size would be. He went into details about different incisions there are for a breast lift, what one would be beneficial for me, and he also discussed everything about how that procedure would go.
Half way through this appointment, I decided that this was the surgeon for me. He was informative, courteous and obviously very skilled. That's what I want when I'm paying someone $20,000.00 to cut me open.

Bottom line, I suggest for everyone to book multiple consults and know the difference. Also, read reviews because after having my consults, I noticed horror stories from this clinic.
