Yesterday was my 3 week post opp with Dr. Tutela in his NYC office. He gave me new exercises to do and we have zero complications! I love how they look and feel so far! He said I’m on track for wonderful healing and I cried in his office because I am just so happy with my results, to be safe, healthy and VERY satisfied! His hands are gold and he’s a genius in the operating room :)

Breast lift with Implnts
Dr. Tutela!!!! The ultimate top surgeon in my opinion. I found him after reading reviews on RealSelf, seeing that he helped celebrities on TV, and then of course cross checked him on Yelp.
My research found that he's not only a great plastic surgeon that performs breast implant augmentations, but that he handles very serious cases such as reconstructive surgery (cancer patients, implant ruptures, etc). From the moment I met him for our consult (which was not rushed, probably ~1 hour because my situation was complex), he was the MOST meticulous, precise and thorough regarding measurements, documentations and explanations.
My surgery was two Thursdays ago, and his skill is truly unmatched. But, here's what went down that day Dr. Tutela had an unexpected emergency surgery at another hospital around 2am prior to my 7am surgery the same day. I had to wait until 12pm after getting there at 5:50am but my mom and I didn't care because the surgery center kept us informed and comfortable as possible. Things happen which is no ones fault! Ok so--
The moment Dr. Tutela showed up (rushed from that other surgery to mine)-- he looked at me with a HUGE SMILE, was calm, cool and collected. I would've thought he'd be in shambles and out of sorts, or disheveled. But no, he greeted my mother and I, graciously thanked us for being patient and said "he wouldn't miss my surgery for the world!" :)
I was quite nervous after hours of anticipation, but he's sooooo comforting throughout the entire process. I was on the operating table and he was making jokes to make me laugh because I had a tear on my face just from being nervous, naturally.
Regarding the facility at Livingston Surgery Center, everything looked EXTRA STERILE (is that even possible) omg. Wouldn't be surprised if he made himself and the OR Nurses brush their teeth before operating on me-- that's how much of a perfectionist and thorough he seemed to be hahaha!
Boobs are his thing guys. The proof is in the pudding, go to a consult with him. Make your own judgement. He shows you all options, asks you tons of qualifying questions, and leaves it up to you. Zero pressure from him or his wonderful business manager Lisa Federico (another all-star employee of his that I could brag about for days on how helpful and out of the way she went to help me with my pre-opp paperwork, faxing, scheduling, sending me pictures, etc).
Sorry this is long but it's really important. Dr Tutela calls and texts whenever I have questions (I had and still have thousands). Never feel like I'm bothering him. Post surgery I've sent him so many gross photos making sure everything is ok and he responds professionally, and quicker than I could ever imagine.
I go to my second post-opp to remove bandages sometime next week (Saturday I think) so I'm excited to see the final results (incision tape removal among others things).
Complicated cases come with significant scarring, but he is upfront about it from the start and I could not be more grateful for him taking the best care of me. Tears of joy and thankful for you restoring my confidence and health!

Can i ask how you paid? Do they do financing?
You technically pay in 3 installments. First I paid ~9k to Dr Tutela’s in full before surgery date. Then, the day of your actual surgery you pay the hospital/surgery center (price depends on how many hours your surgery was) so I paid a little under 2k lump sum to them that day. Then, about 2-3 months later you get a bill to pay the anesthesiologist which will be (have yet to get it since it’s early still) around 3k. So that’s how you can pay in “lump sum”. Otherwise, no they don’t do financing BUT CareCredit is something to explore! If you pay the loan to them off in <6 months there’s zero financing fees/interest to pay! How amazing. So I almost did that until I found out that you pay in 3 installments with lump sum. Go for a consult! Doctors like him usually charge but he doesn’t for some reason and he’s literally changed my life.
Oh wow so how much will everything add up to be at the end? Was the 9k just for the implants? And then you pay another 2k on top of that for the hospital fee?? I’m just trying to get an idea bc i have my consult on the 2nd and they told me 7,000 for the breast aug assuming i don’t need a lift. Now I’m wondering if the 7,000 doesn’t include the hospital and anesthesiologt fees?
7k is most likely just the surgeons fee/payment for implants. Just ask Lisa for more details :)

For a little context, I'm mid-transition MtoF and looking to get implants. I'm scared that going with this I'll lose sensation in my nipples or that they won't look great post-op. Can I ask what your experience has been with sensation and what your nipples look this far out from surgery?
