1 month post op

Can't believe it's been a month since my surgery! Not a ton to update on.

I got my tape off this week, and I'm happy that the incisions are very thin, so hopefully they heel well. I'm going to start a 60 day Embrace silicone sheet set tonight. I have the silicone gel, which I'm just going to use after the Embrace sheets. I'm glad my breasts have been evening out. Looking forward to the implants starting to drop and fluff as well.

Still no sensation in one of my areolas/nipples. Hoping that it comes back soon.

All and all I feel great. I'm going to start exercising this week, taking it slow and easy.

15 Days Post-Op

I'm just a little over 2 weeks post-op and, I feel great. Not really in any pain. The swelling has gone down a lot, and my breasts are not as lopsided. My doctor says it will take 6 months for me to see results closest to final, so trying to be patient.

My breasts have definitely softened a bit, and feel less like balloons. I've been doing the massages 3 times a day, 3-5 mins each. I have the absorbable sutures, and get my tape removed in a week or so. .

I think one of my nipples is bigger than the other, but I have no idea how that will heal, so crossing my fingers. I still don't have nipple sensation in my right breast (the one that's bigger). I'm still slightly bruised in that breast, and it's the one I had tissue removed, so it went through more than the other. I've has nipple sensation in my left from the beginning. Really hoping it starts to come back soon.

All and all, doing well. Crazy how fast things heal and change, and looking forward to each day getting better and better!

5 Days PO BL + BA

I made it! Here's a 5 day post-op recap...

PO Day 5-4
Feeling a lot better! I switched to extra strength Tylenol and stopped taking the harder pain killers. I'm a little sore in the morning and night, but way better than the first few days. The Tylenol alleviates any pain. I've started massaging my breasts a few times a day. I was scared to touch them at first, but it's not bad at all, they don't hurt when I touch them. I do get pains randomly, more on my left side. My left breast has nipple sensation (and is the smaller breast), so I think it's just tighter there and has more sensation than the other at the moment. Nothing out of the ordinary. I don't have sensation in my right nipple/areola. I get tingles every now and then so hoping that comes back soon. Sleeping is still not normal, I mostly just wake up a few times a little uncomfortable. I'm still getting sleep though so I have energy during the day, at least.

I've been wearing the strap or bandeau thing, it's a little annoying my makes my upper half look even bulkier. My doctor said wear it until they fall, so I imagine I'll be wearing it for a while. Lucky I don't have a job I have to dress up for, so hoping that wearing baggier tops and layering things helps cover it. As per normal, my chest feels tight, and each breast feels balloon-like. Since I went with implants around 200cc, moderate profile, they don't sit as high as a lot of implants at first, but I'm looking forward to them dropping.

PO Day 2-3:
Not as bad as I thought pain wise, but still pretty sore at times. Mornings and nights were the worst. You don't realize how much you use your chest muscles for things! Getting in and out of bed was one of the hardest things. I found that using my legs to knee on to the bed, then isolating my ab muscles to lower myself down helped avoid using my most of my chest. I'm not a back sleeper, but found it easier than I thought to fall asleep, it's just staying asleep that's hard. I kept waking up at the point where I'd normally roll over, but couldn't.

I tried to be active, while taking it easy. I went for walks, but walking more than 15-20 was pushing it, so I took breaks after that. Just tried to listen to my body and sit when I needed to. I was using that hard pain killers for the first 3 days, taking about 3 times a day. Opening doors was hard, I tried to isolate just using my hand to twist, and my lower body to open. Another thing that normally uses my chest muscles, so had to adjust.

Day of Surgery:
It went well. The worst part was me passing out twice as I was being measured pre-op. I have low blood pressure and I think it was just nerves and dehydration, but it's not uncommon. I've never been under anesthesia, so that was a new experience. I definitely was wobbly and out of it, I don't remember a lot of when I "woke up" from surgery. I didn't get nauseous though so that's a plus.

The doctor said that since my breasts we pretty lopsided pre-op, he measured and accounted for them falling differently post-op. Since my bigger breast would fall more, that's why the nipple is a bit lower post-op, as it will rise more than the other as it falls. He also removed tissue from my bigger breast, so I'm hoping that's why it still looks bigger still because of swelling. I know it's common to be lopsided after surgery, and you can start seeing results till about 3 months earliest... I'm just hoping they even out more since I was really unhappy with the asymmetry pre-op. But they still look a lot better, so I feel optimistic. It does feel nice to have my nipples point out instead of down, finally!
