Office review: Bad communication/ghosting

After seeing so many positive reviews and Dr. Camberos great before and after pics, I decided to submit an online consultation form with my photos. My experience with the patient coordinators started off okay in the beginning, but it soon went downhill from there. When asking clarifying questions that I had (since getting a surgery and traveling to another country requires lots of planning and coordinating), the responses became more infrequent. An example of weird communication was after they had given me some surgery days within the timeframe I wanted, I responded back letting them know I wanted my procedure done the first of a month. A couple days later I received a response from the office staff, confirming my surgery details for the 4th of the month. It felt like after that, we really weren’t on the same page. As a side note, I’m not sure if the communication was incorrect and awkward because of a language barrier. Considering that on their website and social media, they advertise their office being both English and Spanish speaking (as they have a lot of patients who traveling from the United States). At this point in our communication, they would often take 3-5 days to response, or sometimes I wouldn’t hear anything at all, leaving me to have to send follow up emails. This put me in an awkward situation, as it is the coordinators job to do that, and it also started to make me lose confidence in choosing his practice. After sending a final email asking about blood test instructions and received NO response at all from the people I was in contact with, was the final sign to me that I didn’t feel comfortable going through with surgery with this particular practice. I felt disappointed, since I really like Dr Camberos work that I’ve seen, and he also seems to be a perfectionist when it comes to the details. Unfortunately I cannot say the same thing about the employees running the front desk/patient coordinators.
