Amazing Experience & Exactly the Result I Wanted
I had a breast augmentation with mastopexy performed by Mr Adamthwaite at Nuffield Health Chester just over 6 weeks ago.
Following pregnancy and breast feeding, I was unhappy with how my breasts looked and decided to book in a consultation at Nuffield Health after reading good reviews.
My first consultation with Mr Adamthwaite was very in depth and he advised me what I would need to get the result I wanted, what this specific surgery would entail and answered every question I had regarding implants, incisions, recovery and everything in between. The main thing for me was to regain the perkiness and shape of my breasts, rather than the size itself (I just wanted to look in proportion) and I felt like he understood this from the outset.
Shortly after my first consultation, I booked in my surgery date and another consultation where I was able to answer any remaining questions I had. I also had a pre operative assessment and COVID-19 test.
The day of the surgery went smoothly, my hospital admission time was 7.30am and the nurse came to collect me for my surgery just after 10am where I was then put under general anaesthetic (this was one of the things I was worried about never having been put under general anaesthesia before, but all was fine and the anaesthetist put me at ease). I met with Mr Adamthwaite and the anaesthetist on the morning of the surgery also, so I knew exactly what would happen.
Following surgery, pain was to be expected but eased with the pain killers provided. I was also feeling very nauseas for the rest of the day/night. I decided to stay the night in the hospital as I wanted to be comfortable for my first night, but I was given the option of being discharged the same day.
Recovery from there onwards went very quickly, the first week being the hardest with children but got easier every day after that. I was informed to wear my post op bra for 6 weeks and the breast band for 3 months which helps support the breasts into more natural position.
I have attached a photo of my breasts from 4 weeks post surgery.
I was happy for Mr Adamthwaite to decide on the implant size during surgery with what he thought would give me the best result based on the look I wanted. The implants are round 350CC under the muscle and I have anchor incisions where the implants were inserted and lift was performed. I was a bit worried about the scarring not knowing how thick or long the incisions were going to be, but I was pleasantly surprised when the dressings were removed and I saw how fine the incisions/scars were.
I don’t have a before picture to upload unfortunately but my breasts were a lot smaller and lower from where they had rapidly grew and stretched so much during my pregnancy.
Overall, I’m so pleased I chose Mr Adamthwaite to perform my surgery and couldn’t have been happier with my result and the process from initial consultation to now.
I would recommend Mr Adamthwaite as well as the Nuffield Health Chester to anybody looking to have breast surgery.
