19 Days Postop

Almost three weeks out. Everything seems to be settling well and incisions looking a lot cleaner. Obviously the skin is going to take time to settle so just have to be patient. Still only doing light activity, no lifting yet. Started driving again which didn’t cause any problems. So far I’m very pleased with the progress.

12 Days Post Op

Had follow up appointment last Thursday when surgeon removed all the tape and stern strips. Was given go ahead to shower properly using antiseptic soap. Was old I could wear a soft sports bra if I wanted. To be honest it has been so nice being able to go braless for the first time in my life. Ive never been able to before so I've been taking advantage of it. Have been sleeping in sports bra though just for some support in case I move too much while I'm sleeping. Incisions still look pretty raw but seem to be healing well. It's a slow process and have to remember to be patient. More bruising on the right side, probably because I'm right handed and use that arm more than the other. I have to remind myself not to do too much just because I'm feeling good. Made the lower incision bleed a bit last night, not sure how, but it wasn't for long and was fine today. Have been going out a bit. You can't tell I've had anything done when I have clothes on so only people I've told are even aware. I did go shopping for a couple of soft wire free bras today. After having the asymmetry of the left side corrected, I am a little but smaller but I'm happy with that as have always wanted smaller breasts. Comfortably fit in a 34C now. Might get a bit smaller once swelling goes down. Was nice to be able to try on some clothes today that I'd never have been able to wear before. Can't wait to be fully recovered and do some real shopping! Some areas of my breasts are starting to get more sensitive. Definitely still have good sensation in my nipples so don't have to worry about that! So far I'm very happy with my progress. Hoping my scars heal well because I do have a tendency to develop hypertrophic or raised scars. Once I get clearance from surgeon I will start some scar therapy oils and silicone strips.
