I’m 24 years old, 2 kids and ready to get my boobs back in shape! Back story: 5’3, 120 lbs, currently 32c that holds everything together.. goal is perky 32D I started my research a year ago And went to 5 doctors total.. yes, 5!
The first two doctors I saw was near my home. I figured it would be an easy drive home but turn out one doctor was NOT board certified and the other was plain mean. He wanted me to go 450cc and wait 6 months to see if I needed a lift. He dismissed how I didn’t want big implants let alone two surgeries so that was a no-go. Both doctors cost was $9,500.Doctor #3 was my dream doctor Beverly Hills, I found her on instagram and I knew she was he doctor for me(very meticulous and patient). Her consult was $500 and I paid it. She said I needed a full lift and around 330 cc round HP under the muscle. But at the end of the consult, the cost came out to $27,000. So... no...Fourth doctor was from Beverly Hills as well. He recommended the same as doctor#3 but the cost was $13,000. At first I liked him but then watching his videos/photos on Instagram for a couple months while saving up the money, his lifts didn’t seem symmetric. It was always off. I wanted a doctor who cares about symmetry and truly understands the look I’m going for.I was recommended by a friend to the final doctor consult which was in murrieta,ca (2 hour drive). I knew about him for awhile but didn’t want to drive if I didn’t have to. I went to see Dr. Filips and during his consult he suggest 340cc gummy bear memory shape implants, over the muscle with a lollipop incision. This threw me off completely initially due to the other four doctors recommended the round under the muscle thy is commonly used everywhere. But after doing the research and the answers he shared of his reasoning, it all made sense! He understood my goals and made his recommendations off of it instead of doing what was common. I’m so excited to move forward with him and get my pre-baby bikini body back!Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning! Will keep you updated!

There’s no way you’re 220lbs! Lol!! Kidding, but for real...that has to be a typo! Looking to get all the same as you’ve had: lollipop lift with 300-400cc cohesive gel implants over the muscle! Keep us posted on the recovery pls! Mahalos XX

Lol I’m sorry, thank you for catching that.. I’m 120lb! I will definitely!! I had a hard time finding reviews that had the same procedures the same as mine! So I’m really happy we get to share this experience together!!❤️

Lol! You look 120, certainly not 220 :) Over the muscle is definitely the road less traveled (I’m guessing because on the surgeons end it’s the easy way to hide the implant) but I feel like I’m some cases a better option when in the hands of a great surgeon! I really don’t wanna lose upper body strength from cutting the muscle and definitely don’t want that awful distortion that happens when you flex and they’re under the muscle! I know there’s the risk of not being able to detect cancer if the implant is over the tissue but supposedly if it’s carefully placed between the breast tissue and muscle it’s not a problem. Did your surgeon discuss that with you at all?

Yes! I’m trying to fix the 220 to 120 lol, typo.. :) My doctor discussed all my options and the reasoning of why he decided over the muscle and the type of implant. He stated that there use to be only one shape implant (round) and to create a more natural look, they put the implant under the muscle for more rounded look especially for people who have no breast tissue. He recommended I go over the muscle, for these reasons: 1) I have good amount of breast tissue that will surround the implant so there is no rippling or pronounced breast implant look 2) speedy recovery since I have a 4 year old and 2 year old 3) he felt that under the muscle is so unnatural to the body and believes the new gummy bear memory shape implant creates the same look as a round implant under the muscle. He said it makes more sense that if possible why not put an implant where the tissues is instead of putting an object where it shouldn’t be (aka the muscle and ribs 4) as far as mammograms, I would opt to do an ultrasound or CT scan instead. 5) he also chose a textured implant which decreases chance of capsular contracture vs a smooth implant because my body will naturally intertwine itself into the texture when healing to hold in place so there is no bottoming out. 6) when separating the muscle, it looks weird when the muscle tightens when working out and if you ever decide to explanation our muscle will never reattach to your ribs. A Also on a side note, I have read research that BII could possibly be related to implants under the muscle causing your body to try to remove causing autoimmune issues. Im not a doctor but I am a firm believer of doing your own research and see as many doctors you can and TRUSTING your gut!!

I’ve been trying to locate the edit feature for reviews but I can’t seem to figure it out! Thanks for the great feedback! I agree, knowledge is power and doing your research is key but it’s definitely enhanced when backed up by first hand experience! Everyone I know with implants went under the muscle and swear it’s the best way but I’ve always been a black sheep and I just didn’t wanna believe it was the best option for me, so I’m glad to hear your testimony because everything I’ve been researching agrees with your experience. Looking forward to your post-op updates and recovery! Thanks, aloha XX

I know, this website can be a little tricky. This is the whole reason I’m stepping out of my comfort zone about my journey because there is not a lot of people that go over the muscle and a gummy bear texture teardrop shape implant. All I ever heard was to go under the muscle to give the round implant the teardrop (more natural look), but when my doctor explained that there is a teardrop implant that can give the same look without damaging the muscle? I was intrigued and went home to do more research on it.. he said I was a good candidate because I had some tissue already that will surround the implant for it to blend well and not cause the implant definition. Let’s stay in touch!

Well I dunno if anyone else is reading along but I for one appreciate you sharing your experience! I’ve been borderline obsessed with researching these procedures and you’re right, there’s very few reviews on over the muscle BA, so thank you! I’m still a few months out from surgery but I’ll keep in touch as things progress! I live in Hawaii so I will have to travel for my surgery that’s why I’m giving myself plenty of time to choose the right doc and arrange travel. Took 6 weeks off in September/October. I’m (fingers crossed) hoping I’ve found a great doctor in the Vancouver, WA area. Waiting to hear back from his patient coordinator but I’ve been in contact with a recent mommy makeover patient of his who, like you, did an over the muscle BA! I hope your recovery is going smooth, talk to you soon! XX, Kristin

Post surgery day 1-2

On surgery day the doctor d staff were absolutely amazing! I can’t believe to tell you how calming they were especially since I felt I was going to have an anxiety attack. The doctor let me ask all the questions while marking me up and went over every step to make me feel reassured. 345cc gummy bear memory shape, over the muscle, lollipop, and removal of some tissue on the left side to make it even.
I slept most of the day and thank goodness my husband was there to help me take my meds and help me get out of the bed to use the restroom a million times and walk around for circulation. I have no bleeding that I’m aware of really swollen, and I just feel like a bowling ball is glued to my chest! As long as I take my pain meds, I just have discomfort and little pain.
Today I will be having my post op appointment before headed home. I will update photos later today!

I am completely vulnerable about where I’m at “look” wise in the photos. I’m very very swollen, and taking norcos during the day and a muscle relaxer at night to help with sleep. I’m very happy with my nipped placement with how evenness and symmetry which was my biggest concern!! I have mostly pain on the sides of my boobs and feel tightness where he incisions are from the lift. They really swollen but look forward to seeing how they look at my one week appointment next friday! Doctor recommended I rest for a week and not lift anything heavier than a coffee cup. I’m so thankful for my mother, MIL and husband who have been so supportive in helping me with my meds, and taking care of my babies. I plan on trying to take Tylenol tomorrow instead of norco because I haven’t pooped since surgery day...(that’s going to be fun) and will take my first shower tonight. I am able to put my hair in a bun and but definitely cannot lift, push or pull anything... even my fridge or car door. I will post again either on my 1 week post op or if anything changes. I’m an open book, message/comment anytime ?? I’d love to hear our stories too!
