Week 9 update
Didn't get around to updating at the two month mark as I was traveling, so here is week 9! I still have redness around the areolas but I think that is partly due to the Silagen scar gel that I am using, it tends to dry out my skin but I'm sticking with it. I hate going to bed with a bra on but I am trying to stick with that too, although I have caved a few times and tore it off during the night! My left side still sits higher, definitely firmer than my right and a little square looking but I know I still have some dropping and fluffing to do.
24 Year Old Implants Gotta Go!
This is going to be a long post as I'm one month post-op but I wanted to give you guys a true account of my whole experience.
I have known for some time that my 24yr old silicone implants needed to be replaced. After a trip to the ER and numerous mammograms that suggested a ruptured implant my husband and I began our research. Once my husband is on a mission he is on it big time and he was the one that came across Dr. Revis, trust me when it comes to my boobs my husband is all over it!! We read numerous reviews, looked at pictures, researched the Internal bra and we just knew he was the PS for me! We travelled from NJ to FL to meet him, see his practice, check out the facilities etc before we made a commitment. Dr. Revis came bouncing into that room like he was a long lost Uncle, he's friendly, not creepy at all and knows exactly what he is talking about, he just gets it. Revisions are a huge part of his practice and he was not fazed at all by my 24 year old implants, he's like....let's get these things out!
We booked my surgery there and then for January 20th, pre-op 19th at 2pm!! We were out of town patients and the staff made it so easy, Carly was great! Holy Cross called a few days before to schedule a Covid Test, again so easy and so organized!
Pre-Op Day: We arrived earlier than expected (1:15pm) but headed straight to holy Cross for my 2pm Covid Test. You line up in your car and they check you in, very efficient, quick swab up the nose and you are on your way. 1/2 mile down the Rd to Dr. Revis' office, early again but they did not keep us waiting! The Doc bounces in again, goes through the procedure, double checks size, wants, needs answers any questions then you head into Carly who goes through all the paperwork, payment, surgery time/procedures and prescriptions to be filled.
We stayed at the residence inn on the Intercoastal Waterway, we used points but it was perfect. Balcony on the waterway, great pub/restaurant next door and 10 mins to Dr. Revis' office and 12 mins to the hospital.
Surgery Day! My appointment wasn't until 3pm but they called me at 1pm to ask if I could go early, I was like hell yes!!!!! My husband was able to take me up to the surgery floor but that was it, I was on my own......for like two minutes! They took me back, can't remember the Nurse's name but he was great, an Arsenal fan, poor soul but really put me at ease. The Doc bounced in, marked me up with sharpie and that was pretty much me gone............
I woke to ginger ale and cookies! the Doc came over said all went well and he'll see me tomorrow. My husband picked me up, he said the Doc had sent him a text right after surgery that said, Surgery went well, 800cc's and Awesome!!!
I took the pain medication right away and had a pretty decent night sleep, I do find it awkward to sleep on my back but I'm a side sleeper normally. I must say the pain level is no where near when I had my first augmentation, If it's because this one was periareola I don't know.....Dr. Revis also performed the Internal bra and I have had no puckering in or around my arm pit, I have had a little resistance with my left back reach but nothing like I expected, no real pain as such.
You will see by my pictures how my boobs have changed but the one thing that I really noticed which no-one on here ever described was the internal stiches popping!
After surgery you have Steristrips around your nipples, by week 2 and a bit you want to pull them off!!!! When they do come off be prepared, it's ugly! Between that week 2-3 is extraordinary, you can feel the internal stiches dissolve (it felt like a pop to me) the difference in appearance is unbelievable. I am now on week 4 and a bit, my right side has dropded and very soft. My left side not so much but my husband is working on it :) I did experience extreme itching, redness and flaky skin....It's a process. I'm currently using Silagen for my nipple scars and in the last two days I've added Bio-Oil which is like night and day, I love it, not only for my boobs but all over my body!! I turn 50 in June and I'm hoping to lose 20lbs so hopefully the next time I post pictures I'll be 130lb, 50 and Fabulous!!
