24 days post Op

The left is healing faster then he right. Still have a ways to go with swelling on the right to go down but the scarring is minimal. Using Neosporin to minimize scarring and eliminate dry skin. Feeling great!

Exceeded Expectations

My body carried and nursed 3 children. I have 2 adult children and one in elementary. This year I treated myself to the gift of my pre-pregnancy body. Like others I started out wanting to go all in with a Mommy Makeover. The cost, healing time, risk, and commitment was overwhelming so I worked out and lost 40 lbs. This made me happy for a year or two but eventually I started to feel uncomfortable with my body. when it was time to take them off I was back to feeling unhappy with my body. As some many of you may be able to relate, my breast interfered with my sleep and I began feeling like they were not a part of my body. I believe I was disconnecting myself from my very own breast because they didn’t represent the way I felt on the inside.

It was my second consultation with Dr. Wright and my motivation was no longer about how I looked. It was 100% about how I felt. Years earlier I had a consultation with Dr. Wright for the Mommy Makeover and was scheduled for surgery but had to cancel due to a death in the family and financial obligations. Three years later, I came back to relieve my discomfort by way of a breast lift. I plan to get a tummy tuck later and I’m glad that I held off on the MM. Healing from both a lift and tuck and the same time would be too much for me to bare. It is already difficult healing from the lift because I can’t use my chest muscles much so I rely a lot on my abdominal muscles. I didn’t realize how much I used my chest muscles throughout a day until this surgery. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not knocking the MM. Plenty of women have them and make it through recovery without a problem and their bodies look amazing.

I am 9 days post op and feel great! I’ve ceased the need of pain meds and rely on ice compressions every now and then. As you can see in the pics, my stitches are neatly intact and all the surgical tape is still in place. As of today I have 100% feeling in my nipples. I’ve seen some of the work on breast lifts on this site and others. I must say my 9 day post op results exceeded my expectations. Dr. Wright did an exceptional job. My post op appointment is next week. I’ll post update of my status then. Toodles!!!
