Breast Lift with No Complications

I had been unhappy with my saggy, stretchmarked breasts since I was a teenager (14 yo and onward) and just uncomfortable being topless and hated finding bras that could contain my breasts while doing physical activities (lots of flopping around).

Last spring (2021) I had a consultation where Dr. Silverman. I went in with only knowing I wanted to remove a lot of breast tissue and didn't have a cup size in mind (just perkier and smaller). Dr. Silverman showed me what he thought was best in terms of size and told me that the change would be drastic enough that the scars would be worth it for me. He wasn't pushy on the surgery at all, even saying he could recommend some bras if I didn't want to go ahead with it. The consultation may be a little disconcerting for anyone who is shy/self-conscious about nudity. I had about 3 people see me topless first visit and then I just got used to being topless when I was there after that (the paper gowns seem like a waste by the end of all of your post-surgery follow up visits lol).

My surgery was scheduled for the morning on October 2021 in Quebec. I was pretty anxious for months beforehand, never having had surgery or general anaesthetic before. After arriving on surgery day, everything went very quickly and I didn't really have time for too many nerves - although I was certainly in a cold sweat. Met Dr. Silverman in a small room where he drew the lines on my chest for surgery with a marker. I think the anaesthesiologist also came in and asked me a few questions as well (that part isn't clear). They both asked me if I had any questions/concerns and then we went into the surgery room. I laid down on the table and my arms were out perpendicular to my body and strapped down (like I was on a cross). The surgical nurses were very nice to me and reassuring. I tried not to panic (deep breathing) and next thing I knew I was in the recovery room asking the nurses groggy questions. Dr. Silverman's resident came in to check on me and then I was on my way home.

Dr. Silverman provided a prescription for stronger painkilling drugs but I ended up not using any of them. For the first 2 days I did a preventative mix of Alleve (naproxen) with Tylenol(acetaminophen). But I really didn't have any post-operative pain at all (lucky I guess). The worst part of it all was not being able to sleep on my stomach (torture for me). I learned to use a body pillow on my side. Against the advice of Dr. Silverman, I was playing hockey again about 2/3 weeks post surgery, making sure to shower right after. I did adhere to the regimen of wearing the post-operative bra 24/7 and it's a good idea to have at least 2 of them. If they weren't so ugly I'd be wearing them all the time (they are really convenient/comfortable). I did try using silicone strips for better scar healing, but honestly it's a lot of work to maintain (taking them on and off for bathing etc) and my scars are looking pretty good imo.

When I first saw my "new" breasts, I was very happy even with all the bruising and stitches still there. There was that worry that maybe the nipples would be at a weird angle/too high but the areola size & placement and the overall shape are very pleasant to me and I am happy with Dr. Silverman's aesthetic decisions.

After surgery, I went to visit the clinic regularly for follow up appts @ 1 week, 3 weeks ... I think for a total of 4/5 check ups? Sometimes meeting Dr. Silverman, Nurse Brenda, or Vanessa. All were very nice and polite with me.

Overall, I am super happy with the results. I now feel comfortable in all types of clothing (low cut shirts, bikini tops, etc) and I am actually the same bra size as I was to begin with (no new bras needed, woo). Against Dr. Silverman's recommendations, I also go braless way too often (don't be like me!).

Thanks Dr. Silverman and co.!
