Breast lift with 265 silicone implants, tummy tuck and umbilical hernia

WORTH IT$22,000
I am a mommy of 3 lovely children and breast feed each of them. 44 years old, 140 pounds, active/fit person. After gaining and losing 50+ pounds three times I didn’t like the extra skin on my tummy and the “pancake” look my boobs had taken on. I originally saw Dr.Shortt in September and was only planning on doing fat transfer to my breasts and mini tuck. After many hours on this site and researching the heck out of everything I decided to do a small implant/ lift and tummy tuck but only moving my belly button down (not making a new one) Plus, I wanted the incision super low and not as long as usual so I can still wear a low string bikini. I should have started my review earlier as I’m on day 4 now but I figured better late than never. For the upcoming weeks before surgery I was thinking of canceling as $20k+ and 4-6 weeks of hell as a busy mom of three just feels irresponsible, but i kept telling myself that I MATTER TOO, I’m doing this!!! So here we are... it’s done no turning back now lol

Day 7
Mommy needs workJanuary 23, 2019
Today is Wednesday and I had the surgery last Thursday so if surgery day is “day 1” I’ve made it through my first week! Yipee! And to be honest when I reflect back, it was pretty good! The worst part was the fear of what can happen and the fear of pain. But just take the pain meds! I took the hard stuff at night for the first 4 nights and tried to not during the days and was fine. My PS prescribed Tylenol, Celebrex and a stool softener and I took that regularly for the first 5 days, hard stuff only at night (still taking SS) Make sure you have a great support system setup and it will be fine. The only feeling that is a bit annoying is the night time swell and the backache from only being able to sleep on my back. But the days I drink tons of water the swelling seem to be less. So far I have no regrets and I’m in love with my boobs, they are so wow! Very little boob or any incision pain. The pain I do feel I’m experiencing is around my belly button where I had the unbiblical hernia repair, it seems the boobs and tummy are not too bad at all. I attached before pics and two days later after pics (when I was allowed to shower)

Thanks for sharing the update. The pictures look great. How many days did you need assistance to sit up / get around / etc.?

I am on day 8 today, I was literally waking up from the surgery 7 days ago right now. I would say you need full support for 6 days, the last 2 days I have showered myself and made some food, though my mom is cleaning up after me and making my dinners.

You actually start to figure out how to engage your quads and arms pretty quick. My advice is do some strength training and build some muscle before surgery, it’s helping me a lot. You are utterly useless for 3 days though. It’s fine, just get help, its been fine

Wow! you look great! I am having my surgery with Dr. Shortt next month.
Did you have any lipo? Can't decide whether to have implants or just go with a lift.
Also having a TT with hernia repair.

Oh that was so me for months! I was only planning fat transfer and.no lift or implant, I agonized over the decision until the week before surgery, funny I ended up NOT with what I originally met him for, but I am very happy, my boobs are so awesome! And I asked him not for a crazy lift as a mom of three in her 40’s shouldn’t have boobs up by her collar bone. I think I really achieved the look I wanted. Fuller, modest lift without that fake coconut look so many have at the top of the breast, still kinda a natural look. No lipo, that would have been involved in fat transfer

I’m going for tummy tuck with dr shortt in April. I was debating keeping my belly button and just moving it down also. Can I see a pic of your incision?
January 25, 2019
I just got it re covered up on Wednesday so I actually can’t. But I can send you a picture as of next Wednesday. You don’t have to decide quite yet anyway.

Did you get the lollipop lift? or the anchor? He said I will be getting the lollipop lift.

What’s the difference? I see a scar around my nipple and down, nothing underneath. Granted I can’t really see under, maybe there’s a tiny one

Did the doctor also do Umbilical surgery on you during all these procedures?
If he did, did he sew it in or put mesh on it?

Day 12
Mommy needs workJanuary 28, 2019
Today’s Day 12 and I’m feeling better than a couple days ago. My breasts already feel like I’ve always had them, they are not hard and seem to have a nice firmness but are still squishy at the same time. I’m very happy. My tummy, well swelling is still happening and now I have a bump in the middle of my stomach about 3 inches down from my boobs and it’s kinda freaking me out! It’s sore to touch and I know it was not there before. It’s like it’s where my PS started to sew up my abs, hope somethings not torn inside or that fluid is not building up and rather it’s just swelling. Besides that I am slowly getting back into life, working on my laptop from home, doing kid routine, driving etc. It’s a slow road but each day you feel a bit better. Still need a nap every day though! Tired often.

Are you off all pain meds at this point?
What type of implant did you choose (saline vs silicone gummies)? And were there any discussion about the fairly new implant called "Ideal" (silicone layers with saline inbetween)?
January 28, 2019
No pain meds, not much since day 5, just Advil 1-2 per day at most. I close silicone with more of a round look, they are exactly what I envisioned I wanted. And no discussion about ideal implants. So weird but pain has never really been an issue at all for me. It’s other stuff like mobility and lack of energy and feeling useless that bugs me

Did you call the office to ask about the bump on your tummy?
Also, did they provide you with a compression garment or did you purchase one on your own?
It seems different for everyone.
I am still on the fence about implants. Glad to hear that you are loving yours!

Yeah Dr Shortt is away. I will have to see dr Brown this week. They gave me a three part binder compression garment, but he said at my one week that I could buy a Spanx, I will go out one of these days to buy that as I don’t love this binder thing.
