I had been following a few Australian surgery pages for a while. Weighing up my options and researching each surgeon I came across. I honestly knew Dr. Tav was the one for me as soon as I saw his first before and after photo.
I called his office and the nurse who answered was so welcoming and helpful that I almost felt like I wanted to book with her right then and there haha. I got in for a consultation in a few weeks time, so there wasn't any long wait times I was expecting.
On the day, again, i arrived a little early and the nurses were so sweet that the experience was not as intimidating and overwhelming as it could have been. They had helpful videos of aftercare playing on a TV in the wait room which I thought was a nice touch.
Soon I was escorted into a private waiting room with a nurse. We discussed my hopes and expectations, sizing options. I was givem a robe to change into, I was weighed and measured, fitted with a sports bra and we popped different sizes in to see what I liked.
My wants were: As large as I could get them while still looking natural. I wanted them to have a natural pull/sag to them. High ceavage wasn't important to me but I did want them to drop nicely into that upside down V you seen on women with large breasts in plunge dresses.
We set a basic size down hat I was comfortable with between 315-330cc sizers and in came Dr. Tav. Right on time!
He made eye contact with me, shook my hand delicately and said it was lovely to meet me. He checked the nurses notes and agreed this possibly a great size for me. I unrobed for him, he complimented me on my choice, said that this size was the minimum he would have chosen for existing size, shape and deflation. He mentioned my small ribs and waist and said that even though i am small, going to 345cc in a high pofile implant would achieve a much more natural 'slope than a smaller implant in a lower profile.
He said that sometimes its hard to tell which size will fit best until you trial it. He mentioned the possibility of ordering both the 330cc (I think) and the 345cc in high profile, testing them both side my side while I am on the table and seeing which better complimented my frame. I thought this was such a great idea, it eliminated the concern I had of choosing the wrong size for myself and left it in the hands of a man who wants the best outcome for me, if I am to be an advocate for his work. I valued his honety and trusted him. That was it! I was booking with this man. He was confident and direct, but kind and polite.
Ps. The room we were in had every size implant lined up along well lit cabinet and I felt like I had died and gone to boob heaven because I was allowed to touch them all haha.
Dr. Tav said he was excited to work on me, that these results would be nothing short of my wildest dreams, shook my hand and left.
I was sent over to another nurse who discussed booking and payment options. They had appointments as soon as a month away and had low interest payment options... I booked on the spot.
I was given a lot of information about prep, I was given forms on how to order and pay for my post op bras and meds in advance which made life so easy. It was all packaged together neatly and easily. And I can be a big stresser if things aren't well organised, and I was very at peace with the entire process.
Little over a month later im at the hospital booking in for my boob job. Dr. Tavs bedside manner was immaculate. He was so lovely to me, I had absolutely no fear going in to surgery and I remember nothing about doing under... must have been greats drugs haha.
I was awake before I knew it. I was given snacks, juice and my sister and cousin were waiting by my side. Dr. Tav came go check on me a little while later, he told me that it all went smooth with zero complications. He told me I was the proud owner of two 345cc implants and I was so excited I couldn't stop thanking him!!
Recovery and post op meds, exercised and appointments were meticulously detailed in my paperwork and everything ran so seamlessly from them on.
I was in no pain on the day, im sure I was running on pure adrenaline but there was also the meds I guess haha. I barely slept the first few days but sitting up and sleeping was so un comfortable. Everything from holding a cup of tea to washing myself was a struggle in the coming week but my follow up appointment with Dr. Tav a week after surgery was the lift I needed. I was told I was healing perfectly, and to stop being so worried about them and gentle with them. I was to go shopping for a wire bra to bring them in, I was to start moving them, moving my body more and plan my entrance back in to work.
And honestly as soon as I started moving, everything started healing quicker and I felt like million dollars.
The only downsides were that I had trouble with nerves in my right scar, I had sharp pain there for a few months until I was all healed. I also lost some feeling in my left nipple for two years but she's all back now. There was a time where half (yes half) of my nipple would be perpetually erect and the other half was soft, so had to wear a nipple cover to hide it haha. Oh that and having to throw out every cute dress I owned! I wish someone had told me that every outfit, even if it still fits you... looks so completely different and, uh sexual after you get boobs. I thought shopping would be easier but I really swapped one issue for another. Be prepared to have every 'look' you pick out make it seem like your boobs were only thing you wanted people to notice! Haha.
All in all I had so much fun with this experience, I would do it again in a heartbeat.
