One week post-op

$10,800
Tomorrow will be one week post-op.
I’ll start with talking about my pre-op appointment. It was fairly straight forward. Dr. Gelfant showed me a “slide show” presentation on his laptop of some general things about breast implant surgery. It showed examples of results, good and bad. Some safety things, etc. Like I said already, it was pretty general. After, he made some markings on my skin to indicate I wanted 300ccs and silicon implants. Then he took some pictures, and that was it!
I was asked to come to the surgical centre at 12:15pm so that’s when I showed up. It felt like quite a long wait from getting there and going into surgery. I think it was around 3 hours + of waiting. I went into surgery around 3:30pm. During that three hours of waiting, they brought me into an “interview room”, went over a few pieces of paperwork, and got dressed into a gown, hairnet and booties. * I should also note I was asked to wear a mask for the entire duration of my time in the surgical centre, including during recovery. *
They gave me gas through an oxygen style mask which made me pass out almost instantly. First thing I remember when waking up was coughing and having trouble breathing. They used a suction device to clear my throat/mouth. They put the mask back on me right away. This made it hard to breathe and frustrating while battling nausea from the anesthesia. The pain wasn’t too bad initially, I was more concerned with the nausea. I have a history of being nauseous from anaesthesia. I was tapped out for the amount of anti nausea medication they could give me, and I still ended up throwing up. I ended up staying in the recovery area a bit longer than normal due to my level of nausea, but eventually was able to head home.
The first night/day I was very restricted for movement without pain. I was very sore. My chest was swollen but not too bad. I had no discolouration but my skin was very tight between my breasts. I didn’t end up taking much of the pain medication. The only time I found the soreness/pain to be annoying was when I was trying to sleep.
I felt like I had gone too big initially. Obviously it’s a big change from what I’m used to. I was feeling self conscious too, because I thought/think I looked/look heavier. I’m short, but a bit stalky. I wouldn’t consider myself petite. Either way now I am on day 6 post-op and I’m feeling better about the size. I didn’t go too big. I’m really looking forward to the implants dropping. They are sitting very high right now. When I’m wearing clothes you can’t really tell, but looking at my breast in the mirror you can really see the height. I don’t have that nice slope yet.
I will update again probably around a month. I’m hoping to see a significant change by then.

Before and 275/300cc sizers

Here is a pick of before surgery and with 275cc and 300cc rice sizers.
I spoke with Dr. Gelfant today over FaceTime because I was having some trouble deciding whether to go with 275cc or 300cc sizers. Because I don’t live in the same town as the doctor (and because of covid), I couldn’t make an appointment for sizing in person. We agreed that 25cc’s doesn’t make much difference in implant size, it’s less than a shot glass of volume. He said if I was concerned about being too big, to do 275 and if I was concerned about being too small do 300. I’m concerned about both to be honest hah but I decided to go with 300cc. Like discussed, I don’t think it will make much of a difference.

I also should add, he told me the incision for the silicon implant is only around 2 inch long, so that made me feel better... Apparently the "gummy bear" textured style implant is the implant that has quite a long incision.
