So Far, So Good!

I researched the heck out of plastic surgeons in my area, narrowed it down to 4 and then set up consultations with my top 2. I met with both on the same day and Dr. Fata was hands down my number 1 choice. His staff is so, so friendly and informative. Not pushy at all. He is great! Very matter of fact. Very realistic, on the conservative side which I appreciate. I was nervous (and feeling incredibly vain) about this surgery. I just wanted to look like I did before I breastfed 3 babies! He understood that, make a couple of size recommendations, left the room and I tried on the two different sizes. When he came back in, he asked what size I chose and said that was his first choice for me as well. I appreciated he let me choose and then reinforced that I had made a good decision. I chose 325 cc, silicone, under the muscle.

Day of Surgery
Flamingos29August 22, 2019
Surgery went off without a hitch! I tend to get very nauseous with anesthesia, so I was pretty nervous about that. My anesthesiologist was FABULOUS!! I had ZERO nausea. Surgery was at 9, I woke up at 10:20 and was back home before noon. No pain really. It just felt tight. If you’ve breastfed a baby, it was that tight, tingly feeling you get when you go too long in between feedings. I napped when I got home and by 2:00, I put makeup on and was up running around (not literally) doing errands and even went out to dinner! Mine implants are not as high as I expected, but they are wider than I expected. So they are kind of in my arm pits which is kind of annoying. Other than that, Day 1 was great! I only took 2 pain pills and of course the muscle relaxer. I slept pretty well that first night. Very pleased so far!

1 Week
Flamingos29August 22, 2019
1 week down! They have dropped slightly already too! Pain continued to be pretty minimal. I took the prescription pills occasionally the first few days and then switched to ibuprofen. At the 1 week mark I didn’t need anything, although I did continue the Valium at night so that I wouldn’t get too stiff. I am sure that helped a bit with pain management. Biggest complaint is that the skin by my arm pits feels sensitive, like a sunburn or chafing. Maybe it is chafing because my implants are right there? I’ll ask the doctor the next time I see him. I have been very, very tired. Surgery was on a Monday and I took a nap everyday until Sunday. I went back to work Tuesday (the day after surgery) but I work from home, so it was pretty easy. If I worked in an office, I probably would have taken Tuesday off as well. During the week, I was able to take 20-30 min naps over my lunch hour. I was able to raise my arms over my head with minimal discomfort before I got released from the surgery center, but as every day passes, the discomfort lessens. By Sunday, I was feeling really great. Not tired, raising my arms with almost no discomfort. My incisions were the only thing that were kind of sore. I have zip front sports bras and the seam was hitting right on the incisions. Then I discovered the Dick’s Sporting Goods brand (DSG) SEAMLESS zip front sports bras!!! They are amazing!!! The soreness went away almost immediately after switching!! I highly recommend stocking up on these!!
