After breastfeeding 4 children I knew a breast...

After breastfeeding 4 children I knew a breast augmentation was in my future. I began my journey researching 6 years ago! Elective surgery is a big deal and I needed to be SURE of the surgeon I chose. I literally scowered the internet for information and reviews, which was very helpful. I then talked to friends who had the same surgery done and started booking consultations. The one thing I found that kept recurring when talking to people was the PAIN and AGONY associated with a BA. I am a busy woman with a professional job and a mother to 4 small children who did not have time to be in pain! Recovery needed to be smooth. I wanted great results and a DR. who knew what he was doing. I found ALL of those the second I met Dr. Richard Fryer. His credentials are incredible but more importantly, he was kind and so exceptionally knowledgeable. He spent well over an hour with my husband and I and I knew he would be the surgeon to perform my surgery. His staff is also very knowledgeable and helped me to choose the correct size and shape of my implants. I didn’t quite know what to expect on my first visit. I was overwhelmed at all the different options that are present in choosing implants but after the Dr. measured me, I was left with only a few options that he felt suited my frame. PHEW! What a relief! A Doctor who wouldn’t let me just pick out of hundreds of options! Because there are SO MANY OPTIONS! It is very overwhelming! He asked me the look I was going for and told me which options would suit me best. I had very deflated breasts and lots of skin. I was a little unsure how big I wanted to go, but I knew I wanted to be proportionate. I finally picked the Mentor Silicone 400 cc implant. Dr. Fryer informed me that if I liked the look of the 400cc then he would like to place 430cc implants because they tend to look smaller under the muscle. I trusted him completely and I am so glad I did. He gave me very realistic expectations. I knew from the beginning that I wasn’t going to look like a 20 year old who had never had any children. I was still going to look like me, only better! The day of surgery came and the surgical center is conveniently located across the hall from Dr. Fryer’s office. The staff there at Canyon Crest Surgical Center was AMAZING as well. They quickly got me back and got all the pre surgical stuff squared away (vitals, medical history, and a pregnancy test). Then Dr. Fryer entered and went over everything again and calmed my nerves. I was SO EXCITED to finally be to this day! I was completely confidant in my choice of Surgeon and my butterflies were from excitement. Next came in the anesthesiologist. He was fantastic and we chatted about some issues I had with anesthesia in the past. He changed his game plan to make sure I was comfortable and would have no issues. He then walked me back to the operating room and as I was laying on the table getting ready for the surgery he told me that he works with a lot of surgeons and that Dr. Fryer was the one who he handpicked for his wife’s own breast augmentation. That reiterated my confidence in Dr. Fryer once again. Before I knew it, surgery was done and I was being driven to our hotel by my husband. We live an hour away from the surgical center and we had a post op appointment the very next day at 9am so we decided to stay close. I HIGHLY recommend that, even if you live close! Especially if you have small children at home. My mom came up from Nevada to help me but I am sure glad I didn’t have to go home to a noisy house immediately after surgery. The hotel staff was informed that I was having surgery and I requested a quiet room. They upgraded me to a suite on the top floor in the back corner and it was awesome. After getting to my room, I was just really tired. I was also confused as to why I was not in any pain! I was happy about that and thought it must be the anesthesia. NOPE. Dr. Fryer’s technique is so skilled that I didn’t even have a SINGLE BRUISE! Literally NO PAIN. AT ALL. EVER! I understand that this may not be the case for some people but Dr. Fryer is actually well known for this in his patients. I only needed my Ibuprofen for the swelling. My husband took such good care of me reminding me to get up and walk and do my arm circles. I did have a lot of nausea but I ALWAYS have that with anesthesia. I vividly remember thinking how weird it was to not be in pain! My only issue was that I was in a car accident 3 weeks prior and sleeping on my back was difficult, but no pain related to the surgery. I remember dreading the drive home the next day after my post op. I was totally fine! I came home, saw my boys and was ordered to bed by my mother lol. I rested and caught up on my Netflix while everyone helped with the housework for the next week. I did find it hard not doing anything because I felt FANTASTIC. Almost guilty that someone was doing my housework for me but I know it was crucial for my healing. I am now almost 4 weeks post op and let me tell you…..my breasts are amazing! Dr. Fryer FAR exceeded my expectations! I am astonished at my results! I had one that was borderline needing a lift but he was confident he could make it look great without one. He was right. Like always. He knows what he is doing and it shows! His work is impeccable! My girlfriends are so jealous of my recovery experience! Every single one of them (and there are a LOT!) had great results but HORRIBLE experiences. Because of their stories, I didn’t even book consults with their doctors! I want to make sure women out there know it DOES NOT HAVE TO BE AWFUL AND PAINFUL………… IF you choose the right Dr.! In my opinion Dr. Fryer is the only doctor I could even recommend to anyone. My entire experience working with him was nothing short of remarkable. One thing that I had never even heard people talk about, that I feel is helpful to know, is the nerve twinges. At about 10 days post op my breasts began to feel like when your milk lets down when you are nursing. I was not expecting that! After talking to people I learned it was normal and that it was the nerves being stretched. Luckily mine only lasted about 2 weeks. Heavy massage made all the difference in the world. Be aware that the nerve pain may or may not happen to you after 10-14 days or so but know it does get better and won’t last forever! I hope this helps you in any way when deciding to choose your breast augmentation surgeon. If you are in the Wasatch Front you really must meet Dr. Fryer. I know you will absolutely love him!
