Dr. Hartmann listened well & was great, going over options. I wanted my result to be on softer side so I opted for silicone. Using "rice boobs" before helped with size. Go bigger than you first think.

I’m contemplating BA and also in my 50’s. Can I ask why you went above the muscle? So many people do below the muscle and I dont know if it’s for a particular reason or not but I’m kind of leaning to over the muscle.

Definitely do it. I chose over the muscle because I'd seen what happens when they're under the muscle and you flex - they shift and deform a bit. I didn't want that. The second reason is I figured I'd have less pain and heal faster with less strain on the muscle. I can say that I had almost no pain from the surgery. Some aching for the first few days, maybe a week, after, but at no point did I have to take any pain medication. The final reason was that I was hoping they'd look a little more natural being over the muscle. They've dropped a little but aren't done but I think they're looking great. I have an 8-week check-up next week. I'll probably post updated pics after that and then wait until they've fully dropped.

Thanks so much for your input. I’ve heard that it is a quicker recovery and a lot less painful over the muscle. Being in my late 50’s and gravity working against me I was nervous about over the muscle and aggressive sagging since the muscle is not holding it in place. So many things to consider but I’m 90% sure I’m going to do it, just don’t know placement or size yet. Consult in one month. Happy healing and enjoy your new you!

Hiya, am in my 50s and am now contemplating on getting 300cc implant but I still have not decided if I will be going under or over. Can I asked you if you had your surgery done and what cc and did you go under or over ?
Thanks

I have a a question ,I have read many comments that if you go above the muscle ,there are higher chances of capsular contracture and that’s the main reason of going under the muscle ,What did your doctor recommend in regards to that ?

I have read that the pain is way less if the implant is above the muscle so that’s a huge plus but thinking of capsular contracture makes me nervous .

Doing great at 4 weeks

They've already started to drop a bit. My follow up appt is next week so I'll know for sure if they're healing on track. The wounds seem to be healing well. I've found that my nipples are a lot more sensitive now than they were before the implants. I consider it a benefit but I don't know if it's permanent. I'm really happy I had the surgery.

Beautiful results, but I was just wondering why they recommended over the muscle. I thought it would drop more ( tendency to bottom out). I turned 49 this January and want to get mine done by late summer, but until recently, I had only considered the dual plane position. I've been seeing more over the muscle lately and wondered why they're recommending them on slim women ( also worried about rippling since I have a slim torso).

Pics from approx 8 weeks post-surgery

It's actually now been 4.5 months but the pics are from around the time of my 8 week check up. I'm super happy with the results. The extra sensitivity in my nipples, the right one particularly, has stayed, which I consider a plus. On rare occasions I have a tiny ache at my right breast but at no time is it severe or prolonged and I'm so glad I got the implants.

Thanks. That's really nice of you to say. I still have no regrets. I highly recommend it. Get the largest ones you're comfortable with.

You look incredible. You don't look anywhere near 53. You must be very careful with the sun!

Wow!! They look awesome. I’m 54 going to have BA in April going over the muscle as well. What size bra were you and are you now? Trying to figure out how many cc’s to get 320 or 350. Yours came out fantastic!!

This will probably seem a little odd but I was approx. the same outer measurement before surgery - around 35 (up and down between 34-36). I never measured under before surgery but I did lose some weight around that time; I'm now 29-30 under and 35.5 outer. The bra size I always wore before was 34C. I now get 34DDD and they're perfect. I think it's really about how full I am now, post surgery. I could perk what I had up before in a "C" and it was fine. I fill out a "DDD" now. I'll post a current pic.
