Breast Revision + Mastopexy, Bra Line Back Lift, and Lipo of the Abdomen, Knee, and Elbows.

Dr. Rammos is both a saint and an artist. His bedside manner is bar none, and after years of searching for a surgeon to remove and replace my 2008 implants (Bilateral breast implant exchange with mastopexy, bra line/Back lift), I struck gold. I live in New York City, so my consultation was virtual, but there was an immediate connection, and I felt comfortable and listened to/heard. The surgical plan he proposed exceeded my expectations. I was happy that the man and highly coveted double board-certified plastic reconstructive surgeon was human, personable, and professional. When you are making a decision that's life-changing, matching with the best medical professional is essential.
On my journey, I had experiences with plastic surgeons that resulted in me not scheduling surgery. This is my only body, and I want a fulfilling and hopefully long life, so I didn't ignore any red flags. After meeting Dr. Rammos in March 2022, I was 1000% certain he was my surgeon, especially when he identified the capsular contracture (scar tissue squeezing the implant) on my left breast. Until then, I was describing the condition as having asymmetrical breasts. I knew something was wrong, but no one took the time to explain it to me, even though I had a few consultations with other surgeons. Within a week of our consultation, I scheduled my surgery for September 2022.
On the road to surgery, the team at Rammos Plastic Surgery & MedSpa was terrific. Their website is very informative and user-friendly, and it answered many questions after I booked. The “travel info” section was my go-to; I booked my AirBNB through their referral which was a 6-10 minute drive to the office/hospital. The office was in constant contact with me throughout this process, and I never once felt ignored or like a nuisance, especially when I peppered the team with questions. On the day of surgery, a fatty mass on my abdomen resembled a hernia/lipoma, so Dr. Rammos couldn’t perform liposuction in that area without imaging. When I returned to NY, I got a CatScan ruling out both and returned to Dr. Rammos for liposuction a few months later. There were no additional charges, as this service was covered in the initial quote. Dr. Rammos and his team were awesome the second time around, and I want to shout out/ thank Brittany, Alex, Nurse Laine, and Cesilia, who were all an integral part of my journey.
Teamwork makes the Dream work!
Another thing worth mentioning is that Peoria, Illinois, is a small, cozy, peaceful, and friendly town. A great place to recover and relax after a surgical procedure, but their ride-share service provider (Uber) does not offer on-demand/scheduled car service. On average, it took 20 minutes for a car and sometimes several attempts to confirm a vehicle. My advice is to fly in a day early and take a midday flight when more drivers are available. I almost missed my early morning flight going home. My surgery was the day after Labor Day (9/6/22). Dr. Rammos opened his office on holiday for my preoperative appointment and drove me back to my Airbnb when I had difficulty securing an Uber. He gives all his patients his personal cellphone number and answers every call or text. After my surgery, my caretaker had trouble getting my medication from CVS. She texted Dr. Rammos, who came to the drugstore to secure the prescription and drove her back to me before the discharge medication wore off. I was/am so appreciative because this level of aftercare is one in a million.
In conclusion, I stress the importance of selecting a surgeon for their skill, surgical history, bedside manner, and professional accolades, leaving vanity in last place, but baby, my breast transformation is firrrrreeeeeeeeeeeee, so if you want five out of five, choose Rammos!
