Symmastia Repair and Implant Revision

It's been 11 years since I had my first breast augmentation. Back then I was newly separated and going through an ugly divorce and also dealing with the weight loss that came with the depression. I had 3 kids and was a tiny 105 lbs and 5'1. I came out as a 32DD with 365/380cc saline implants. Now remarried with a 4th child and I decided to check with a surgeon and see how my implants were doing. Immediately he pointed out what he called "Symmastia" aka "uniboob". It's something that I never noticed and I have no idea how long I've had it. It never caused pain or any problems. I just didn't notice that my skin had lifted off my sternum and my implants were almost touching. I went to 4 different consults. The first surgeon talked about a 2 hr procedure involving mesh and drains and going down on size. The second surgeon had no idea if I needed the repair or if I could size up or needed to size down. The third surgeon admitted she had no idea how to repair this and referred me to Dr. Burns. He was very confident and said we didn't need the mesh or drains but could fix this with simple sutures and I could add 100cc's and switch out my saline to silicone. Winner, winner!! I did my research on Dr. Burns and was very impressed with everything I read. My surgery was scheduled for April 8th.

Surgery and 24 hrs post op

So before surgery, Dr. Burns came in to mark me up. He told me that with the sutures that he was going to put in to repair the symmastia, I would see my skin looking pinched but it would relax in 4-6 weeks. Not a problem, he's the expert. The staff was sweet and caring, I think the worst part was getting the IV put in on my hand, LOL. When I woke up, the nurse immediately asked about my pain, which I did have some. I got pain meds and she showed me that they placed 2 foams on my sternum, between my boobs. I saw the pinching of the skin, I was shocked but again it was expected per Dr. Burns. I was instructed to wear the foam until I came back for the follow up.The next morning I woke up feeling great. More pain than my first surgery, but I'm sure it's due to the symmastia repair. I have been taking pain meds regularly and do need help sitting up to get out of bed. I am sleeping propped up with 3 pillows and on my back. I took a few pics. Today looking at the size, I think it's ok. I wanted the 100cc added but I didn't want them to look huge. I know this is only 24 hrs post op so there's so much swelling. The skin pinching scares me, but I have to remind myself that I still have to heal. Patience!

So 2 weeks out and I'm loving the size and the feel! Silicone is way softer than saline. I am happy with my choice and my husband loves them, too! My right breast has smoothed out nicely where the sutures are. My left will catch up soon. I am to wear my foam for a total of 3 weeks, which is fine. Whatever it takes to heal correctly. I ended up with Natrelle Inspira SRF-450cc. I do feel that the right has dropped more than the left. They look uneven, but once again I know I am still healing and only 2 weeks post op.
