425cc hp+lift 14-17 po. I finally feel feminine!
425cc hp+lift 14-17 days post op. I finally feel feminine.
My attempt at summarizing my first two weeks:
Rollercoaster. Whoa, they look huge naked. Are they too small? They look small when I look down my top! Omg they look too big in this shirt but they look so small in that one without a bra...
Pain/medication: Other than one week on antibiotics, I took three tramacet in total. It helped that this was my 2nd submuscular augmentation (he still cut muscle to give me more upper pole roundness) and quitting my chest exercises one month prior may have helped. It was really difficult making myself not do too much as I did not have the pain letting me know I needed to slow down. I did do too much on my first post of day as there was a lot of blood in my bandage. Please be careful ladies! I made sure I ate something (usually yogurt) with every antibiotic and I was never nauseated (except when I drank too much water). I did however end up with a yeast infection. Monistat 1 fixed it and completely cleared within one week.
Exercise: I walked every single day. Mind you it was much slower than I would normally walk. Gradually adding time/distance. Listen to your body. I would feel perfectly fine, then suddenly exhausted. At 18 days post op I was walking pretty quickly and I only slowed down because I am paranoid of internal bleeding/capsular contracture even though I have been cleared to do cardio. At 2 weeks I can use 2-5lb weights and do yoga (but again, if it feels uncomfortable, stop) - I haven't started back with yoga as I am TERRIFIED of my implants looking like my last set did. I can open our truck door now (he was opening it for me, it really was sweet after 25 years together :) ).
Work: I waited for my 13th post op day to to go back and I am glad I did. I commute an hour each way (tiring) and even without walking on my lunch break, I can still get 7000 steps in my administrative job. I needed to wait until my first set of stitches came out before I could drive (8 days post op) but then we had already booked a three-day weekend road trip to the states for a college football game so I wasn't going back to work for only one day. I was tired the first week of work (I'm sure because I was buried in emails, still not out of that mess) so I made sure I did the bare minimum after work and rested as much as possible. This is my first weekend since returning to work and other than groceries, food prep for next week, and a couple of walks, I am doing nothing. It can all wait! I think I will do the same by taking it easy next week and go back to normal at the four-week post op mark.
OCD: They are sisters, not twins; also, I am not a Barbie doll. I had a flat spot under my right nipple. It has mostly disappeared but I can see that that breast is a little more pointed than my left breast. One side looks a little flat on bottom at stitches. It looks like extra skin (double bubble) when I look down my top in certain bras. Looks like there is loose piece of skin in stitches (happened with tummy tuck but dissapeared when swelling went down). The incision is on breast mound (used old incision) but keeps getting closer to inframammary fold every week. One is higher than the other and so on. In summary, I am not going to look too closely for a few months or I will lose my mind! I can't do anything to fix it now anyways.
Yellow discharge: My OCD and Dr. Google are NOT a good combination. I was sure I was infected. Mustard yellow discharge. His secretary said it was fine, I saw him two days later and he also said it was fine. I had a low grade fever for almost two weeks - I was certain I had an infection that would get to the implants and ruin everything! Like I said earlier, a rollercoaster. The drainage was gone by day 10.
Stitches: At 8 days post op, he removed half my stitches (husband said 30), and 13 days post op he removed the remaining stitches. No bleeding.
Sleeping: We slept on the couch in the basement for a week and it was great! We took off two back pillows, I propped a pillow vertically in the corner and used my (cooling) neck pillow, he slept further down near my waist and pushed the loveseat closer so he could stretch his legs out, pulled an ottoman next to me and we were good to go! I didn't want to go back to my bed and have to try really hard not to sleep on my side. Even though I have a u-shaped pregnancy pillow, I have still ended up my side. My surgeon said it's fine to sleep that way but I REALLY don't want to ruin these babies!
Dropping/Fluffing: They certainly did a lot of this in two weeks. I assume because this is my second time around. I hope so. I am TERRIFIED they will keep dropping like the last ones did. I have a quick massage I do 4+ times a day and I ALWAYS have a sports bra on. He said I can wear anything I want or wear nothing, but I do not dare to go braless unless it is for a special occasion. Even then I don't feel they are large enough to look good braless.
Overall, I am very happy with them. They are my mullet boobs. I can hide them with patterned/textured/black tops (not that I want to) or they can be in your face. A girl at work said "Welcome back! They're not huge at all!". I lifted my top shirt up and showed her just the tank top profile and her reaction was "OMG they are huge!" I feel more balanced, my ribs protrude so this size helps minimize that.

425cc High Profile, Mentor, Silicone, One day post op!!
So yesterday was the day! I was fitted with 425cc, mentor, high profile silicone submuscular implants. I am 5'7", 135-140lbs and 12.5 to 13 cm bwd (he used both numbers on two different occasions). I had initially wished he had been able fit 480, but after realizing I fit into dd bras without them having dropped yet, I think I will be fine with 425ccs. I just really hope that when they soften that they will sit just a touch closer together! Clinic: I arrived at 7 a.m., then I was taken into the surgical daycare unit at 7:15 a.m. and it was just before 8:00 a.m. when I climbed onto the table. It was a fantastic surprise and very reassuring to have one of the anesthetists that I work for be there. I had my surgery at an off-site surgical suite (not associated with our hospitals) so I had no idea who would be working there. Anyways, I woke up around 11:15 and my husband had me out of there by 12:00 p.m. The bandage was very bulky and not smooth so had no idea how they looked. My husband said they were large but the dork also called my 210cc implants "large" so I didn't trust his judgment ;) I wasn't the slightest bit tired or nauseated (until I stupidly quickly drank 3 litres of water - I am always thirsty). I didn't go to bed until 1:00 a.m. and I was back up again at 6:00 a.m. for my one day follow-up appointment (an hour from home). Needless to say, I was anxious to get there so I could see for myself how they looked! Well, my doctor took off the bandages and my husband's reaction (when the doc stepped out of the room) was "geeeeeeeeezus ". I took that as a good sign, but honestly, when you look down at your own breasts, they just don't look as large as looking in the mirror and there wasn't a mirror in the office. I noticed a flat spot immediately below my right nipple and I was panicked because this is similar to what happened after my first augmentation (different surgeon). He told me it needed to be extra tight there to slow the dropping of the heavy implants (my skin isn't the strongest). I just don't understand why it is only on one breast, but I will just try to not think about it and wait it out. He told me I can wear a bra, or not wear a bra and I can sleep flat on my back. These are opposite to the instructions I received for my first surgery. Needless to say, I will be sleeping upright and wearing a bra 24 hours a day! After the appointment we headed to La Senza/Sport Check to grab a couple of sports bras to get me through until they drop. I CANNOT wait to see what they look like when they drop. I am kind of nervous though, as my first set did not drop very nicely. At least I have the joy I feel today about having large, round breasts! Sidenote, he told me they are not very swollen and I should only lose 5%. After bra shopping, we went out for a fantastic lunch, I briefly napped in the car on the way home, stopped in at few more stores and came home. Almost 10,000 steps later and here I sit on my deck enjoying the sunshine and writing. I dont recommend pushing yourself this much, I know it was stupid of me. Pain: I feel very little as compared to the first time. After the first surgery, I couldn't use my fingers and my chest muscles KILLED if I tried to do anything. It was probably better that way because I was much more cautious with my movements when I was in pain. I have another appointment in one week to remove my stitches and I will post more pics then. Stitches: Disgusting. They were disolvable stitches my first time around, this scares me because I feel like I look like Frankenstein (no frankenboob though!) .
Odd shaped breast
I forgot to upload the real reason for this third surgery. The lower outer edge of my breast is not round. It is a flat edge. Also, going towards my back is excess skin. The larger implant should pull this tighter.
