WORTH IT
Hello, I'm coming up on 3 weeks post surgery, feeling good, I had a follow up with PS yesterday, he said everything was perfect, I am still lopsided, but he thinks it might drop and even out, if not it isn't a hard fix, I will just need to be patient, in the meantime, I'm healing well, the scars look good (well as good as they can be at this stage) it's kind of like watching pain dry at this stage so will post again in a month or so as things progress.

Day 5 PO
Here we go, starting to worry now... are they looking flat? lopsided? Is it swelling? I know I have to practice patience, but so hard! Not much pain going on, I'm puttering around the house, not doing anything much which is probably why I'm stressing.

Compared to your first surgery, was this more or less expensive? I know that the new, smooth implants were free but I also know that they generally go in to carefully take out all of the old capsule that surrounded the old textured implants. Thanks for sharing.
Well my first surgery was in 2010 and have been fixing the mess ever since, I can't actually remember how much the boob part of that first surgery was. This surgery was $14.1K (Canadian) and that was with the free implant replacements. I had a full mastopexy (I only had a benelli originally) and I went from under the muscle to over the muscle so a lot of work had to be done. I don't have any regrets (yet) about it. Good luck with your journey!
I had my revision done 3wks ago for the same reason (swapped out allergan textured linked to BIA-ALCL). From what I researched a revision is almost always more money bc they don't know what your chest looks like completely until day of surgery plus the work to put in the new implants. But more importantly find a Dr you trust with lots of credibility who you feel comfortable with.
Absolutely, my PS is the head of the Plastic Surgery Board in British Columbia and as well, is the main point of contact/knowledge on BIA-ALCL, also he did my tummy tuck beautifully 2 years ago, so I know I chose wisely! It is so important! Hope your healing journey is going well!
Did you have the textured implants removed enbloc?
I don't know what "enbloc" means, but yes the textured ones were removed and repaced with smaller, smooth ones.
They look real weird for a while. My advice is if you are in any way concerned, call your doctor. Do not take advice from the Internet!
Thank you! I know I have to exercise patience, I'm still swollen so I will give it a few weeks before I really start to panic, it's just hard every day to wonder how it will turn out, kind of stressful!
They look great! You made the right decision! Trust yourself!
I just had a major revision as well. I’m so happy I did it. I was having breast implants sickness from my old textured implants. Plus my doctor put in 550s when I should’ve had 400 so my new doctor put in 385 which was perfect. I’m only a day seven and I’m thrilled thanks for sharing your story
I hope you are healing well and are happy with your results I know it's hard to be patient through the process!
Wow this is the second time I’ve heard of someone having sickness from textured implants. My sister sent mea video she found on YT from a chick who got very sick. I hope it’s just the textured ones causing this not all of them
To be fair, I'm not sick and didn't suffer with any breast implant related illness, this was a preventative measure on my part.
Oh that’s good to hear.

Day 4 PO
I feel fine, I can't believe how fine I feel, I have to consciously remind myself to sit the eff down because I can do way more than I know I should, I have to be more careful about overdoing it. Pain is at a 2-3 with or without painkillers. I don't know if I mentioned, but I went from under the muscle to over, maybe that's why there isn't as much pain as I had expected. I had a follow up today, the Dr. is pleased with everything, he took the dressings off, this is what they look like today. I go back in a couple of weeks.
