Consultation review: manipulative and dishonest
Manipulative and Dishonest
I had a consultation with Michael. I asked a few simple questions most of which I already knew the answers to but wanted to test his integrity and ability to be honest about the risks I would be taking going into surgery. He attempted to mislead me about very simple concepts, such as the chance of nerve damage with a breast lift leading to loss of nipple sensitivity. He said there would be no chance of nerve damage because he only cuts the "skin" not the nipple (He repeated this several times as if I was uneducated). I asked "well then how will you decrease mat nipple size?" He finally admitted that yes, he would be cutting into my nipple-- but wouldn't admit the risk that comes with that. He hunng up the video consultation with me! The iPhone makes a certain noise when the other person hangs up so I know for a fact he hung up. Then he called back via phone and tried to change the subject.
In the beginning of the consultation I told him I'd be flying in from another state and have watched videos of the surgery that I'm seeking (an anchor breast lift) Later in the consultation he claimed he has the best post operative care of any doctor. I asked what that consists of, and he said he'll see me the night of surgery and then the week after. I said that's not the best, I've consulted with another doctor who would see me the day after surgery, 3 days after and then a week after that. Cheung says "oh well I didn't know you were out of town" I said yes, I told you that, remember? Then he asks if I want a quote. I said ummm I want to know your post op protocol for out of town patients. Then he tells me and I said sure I'll take a quote.
Later I get a call from on of his representatives and she says that she doesn't have a quote for me because he isn't the right fit for me and I should find a doctor closer to me After he claimed to treat out of town patients. His attitude the whole time was awful. His method of speaking and the way he phrases things is very manipulative and misleading. I would not recommend this doctor, he attempted to lie to me several times. Dr Wiesner at the Physicians institute, nearby in Hollywood is a much more honest, informative, and insightful man than Cheung. Don't let him deceive you!
