Does Not Listen

I had surgery in 2018 with Zemmel for a breast revision. I woke up after surgery knowing something wasn’t right and quickly became sick. I developed a seroma on my left breast within a week post surgery and then severe pain on the lateral side of right breast. I had to have surgery to repair the Seroma but I still had the severe pain on my right side of my breast. I kept being told it was completely normal via email and it would go away. I had seen Dr. Dewire years ago and he told me in time I would need a repair to my right breast (internal bra) using a strattice material. Unfortunately, Dr. Dewire retired before I could have the surgery. I discussed Dr. Dewire’s thoughts with Dr. Zemmel and i had told him several times my wishes were to have the internal bra. I thought maybe the right side pain was from the internal bra but to my surprise a internal bra was never done and my right breast not long after the seroma surgery completely bottomed out. I also told him several times I didn’t want large implants. My original implants were 375cc and I wanted close to the same size as possible. I was surprised to find out I had 550cc implants put in. They were way too big for my body. The pain on my right side became unbearable and I made very painful trips back to Richmond to discuss my issues but was told the pain would go away. The pain never went away. I laid in bed for a year in agony and missed out on tons of events my kids were in. When I did get out of bed I would have to hold my right breast constantly. After a year of my body wearing down I decided enough was enough and I had the things removed by Dr. Rankin of Aqua Plastic Surgery. After removal, I felt like I could breathe again and for the first time in over a year when I returned home I was able to walk down my stairs without help and tears. My main concern with Dr. Zemmel is I wish he would have actually listened to me before surgery and post surgery. I was being 100 % honest when I told you I was having horrific pain. My children asked me often if I was dying ( ages 2,3, and 8). Now that my health is returning I’m able to enjoy my children again and be active once again in the community I reside in. I’m very thankful to feel well again.
