I had breast revision surgery with this doctor in February 2023. The implant I received was a Motiva Ergonomix 1 with a chip.
A few months after my surgery, I noticed a hardening of the implant, which worsened over time. I contacted the clinic and returned to see the doctor in March 2024, but I realized he couldn’t remember where my implant was placed and had no knowledge of the warranty policy for the Motiva brand.
I revisited him in July of this year to get more details about the revision surgery he performed. To my horror, I discovered he did not remove the old capsule during the revision surgery, despite this being a critical step for addressing capsular contracture. Instead, he replaced the old implant with a new one.
Additionally, he was unsure about the implant placement. At first, he said it was under the muscle, then later stated it was above the muscle after I asked for clarification. He also claimed to have no information regarding the warranty for Motiva implants, stating he was "just a surgeon" and did not know the policies.
I expressed that I no longer had confidence in his ability to perform another revision surgery and requested a refund to seek treatment elsewhere. At this point, he became aggressive, accused me of only wanting money, and refused to continue the conversation. He instructed me to speak with the staff and dismissed me from the clinic.
After he left, I attempted to discuss the issue with the staff, but to no avail. I texted the clinic after the incident, but they refused to respond until my sister reached out. They insisted that there was no wrongdoing regarding the surgery.
My intention in sharing this is to raise awareness.
