I wanted to share my experience with Dr. Taekuen Yoon at Arc Plastic Surgery Clinic for my revision breast augmentation. The main reason I decided to get a revision was because I was unsatisfied with the size from my first surgery and wanted to make sure that this time I achieved the exact size I originally wanted.
During my consultation, one thing I really appreciated was that Dr. Yoon used an implant size simulator, which helped me better visualize possible outcomes. We discussed different implant ranges between 350cc–450cc, and luckily I ended up getting 450cc, which was ultimately the fuller result I had hoped for.
Dr. Yoon recommended dual plane placement. I personally feel it was the best option for me. I like the balance of fullness while still keeping a natural look and feel.
Compared to my first breast augmentation, my revision recovery was significantly faster and much more comfortable. Of course, I still experienced some normal soreness and pain from the muscles and nerves healing, but overall it was much easier than my primary surgery.
I’ll be honest.. during the first month, I was actually really scared because my breasts looked huge, and I worried I had made a mistake or gone too large. However, I learned this was mostly due to post-op swelling, which is completely normal. As the swelling gradually settled, things started looking much more proportional. At the one month mark, they already felt pretty soft to the touch, which surprised me because my first augmentation felt much firmer for much longer.
One thing I personally really liked during recovery was the post-op bra. It was an open-style bra, so it felt supportive without putting pressure on the chest or making me uncomfortable. Compared to what I’ve seen used in many overseas countries where bras or compression can feel very tight, this felt much more comfortable and seemed designed to help healing faster without being restrictive.
My only real concern so far has been regarding scar healing. Since this is a revision surgery, I’m not sure if that’s affecting the healing process, but my scar doesn’t seem to be healing quite as smoothly as I expected. I’m continuing to use scar gels and silicone sheets and hoping it improves with time.
Overall, I’m really happy that I finally achieved the size I originally wanted and wanted to share my experience for anyone researching revision breast augmentation in Korea. Hopefully this helps someone else who may be nervous
