Wrong Choice

Dr Kara was the surgeon who originally put in my implants 11 years ago. At that time he did a fantastic job, he had a different location but I remember the staff being fantastic! Since my experience was so wonderful, I decided to stay with him for the removal of my implants (for personal reasons). When I first spoke to Samantha (intake coordinator) I explained the medical reason for my getting them out and told her I would need to get a biopsy of them when they were taken out. She said no problem, then I ask several times about if I am getting out my capsules. She said she believed so but to ask the doctor. After payment was made, my appointments were set up and so was the time and date of my surgery. While waiting my appointments were changed twice, but I thought due to covid I’d give them the benefit. Then Samantha called and changed my surgery date, this was not a ‘do you want to change it’ phone call rather She stated ‘I have changed your date to a few days after the original date.’ I told her I didn’t want to do that but I may consider before. She got me in before and again I had to make arrangements to everything I had put in place originally. Day of, I asked again about my capsules and for them to be removed and was told no problem, they would remove them if they had to. I wake up, was told they did not remove my capsules. After the surgery I was sent home and my left side hurt a lot, I looked under the bandage and I was bleeding a lot. (No drains). I told Samantha straight away and she stated it was normal, but put me in to see a nurse, nurse took off my strips and it looked infected. She told me to clean with hydrogen peroxide. I had some antibiotics at home so I took those and it started to heal a bit but I ran out. The pain continued for a week and went down into my ribs. The pain was so bad that I had to go to the hospital. I was told I could have minor internal bleeding and it should clear up on its own. The plastic surgery clinic was aware of this visit and did not call me the next day to check how I was doing. Another few weeks go by and one day the pain is so server again that I call the clinic and get told to come in and see Dr. Kara (Saturday). Dr. Kara was kind and put me on antibiotics because he thought it to be an infection. He told me that he will set up another appointment with his staff to see how I’m doing after my ultrasound results come back in. Sunday night I get a text stating that my appointment is for 5pm Monday. Monday at 5 pm comes and goes, 5:10 I text and see if they are calling me. 5:17 get a text back that they will call soon. 5:30 a very rude woman calls, she is short with me and tells me no results are back and they will call when the results are back. Tuesday I miss a phone call saying my results are in, 10 min later call back and ask for my results. Get told they will call me back. No call back. Wednesday, today, I call and ask for my results to be sent to my email. I have given so many chances to this place. At this point I’m upset that I paid money to be treated like a number.

I should mention, Dr Kara is a very sweet person and I do not hold anything against him personally. Your business is only as good as your staff and his staff is horrible to deal with. I do not recommend! Find a surgeon who has staff who care as much as they do. After all it’s your body, which should be cared for, not forgotten. I’m really disappointed with my experience and hope no other woman has to deal with what I did!
