He Did Not Utilize the En Bloc Procedure
Uninformed About EN BLOC Removal - Puncture and Drain While the Implants Remained in my Chest
My 28 year old silicone breast implants had to be removed when the right implant because engorged and encapsulated. I opted not to have a fat transfer and to have a simple explanation feeling, finally, fine with my body image at my station in life. This meant that the surgery would be performed in a local hospital under provincial healthcare rather than the expensive surgical suite operated by Dr. Valnicek and his colleagues. I was not a cash cow.
We never discussed the notion of "en bloc" removal of the old silicone implants. I didn't know what en bloc meant but I would read the surgical report that notes Dr. Valnicek opened the right implant and drained the contents of the implant while it was still in my chest.
I would discover the left silicone implant had disintegrated into blebs of silicone and couldn't understand why this fact was not detected on the the multiple mammograms I had throughout the years. Imagine having disintegrated silicone implants in your body.
I have had left chest pain since the removal and I believe tissue around the celiac artery was disrupted during the removal of these 28 year old silicone breast implants. Recent studies show celiac artery with compression morphology.
It frustrates me that plastic surgeons charge us for these cosmetic procedures with one hand and then take money with their other hand to remove these implants.
I do not judge the women and men here who explore cosmetic procedures that enhance their appearance based upon a dictating culture that defines "what beauty is". I wouldn't do that. I did the same the thing because I felt inadequate about my body image. But why, why do we feel inadequate and how do we overcome these feelings? It's a question I can't answer.
Artist Raphael painted fleshy women and centuries later women were binding their breasts to hide their natural curves.
Realself will be around for a long time and will serve as historical platform identifying the trends of beauty over time.
My experience with Dr. Valnicek was not positive. I don't feel he acted in my best interests, he did not discuss the concept of en bloc implant removal, I live with left chest pain and I have reason to believe this surgery has affected my vasculature / celiac artery based upon new findings.
He Did Not Utilize the En Bloc Procedure
My breast implants were silicone from 1985. The right breast implant had encapsulated and the left implant we were discover had disintegrated into numerous blebs of silicone.
Dr. Valnicek Made very little money for me because my surgery was covered by Alberta health services. Dr. Valnicek did not perform the en bloc surgical procedure and may have affected my L1 and celiac artery.
Dr. VALNICEK attempted to upsell me a fat transfer but at age 54, very slender, I felt fine in my station of life I no longer had to prove anything to anyone.
I feel in retrospect. The surgical procedure was sloppy and that There was very little care in ensuring the silicone did not spread to other body parts and the possible fracture of the L one lumbar one vertebrae.
The plastic surgeons here are just after your money. First, they put the implants in and we learned that they are not healthy for us and now they’re charging us, even more, to take them out. It is a vicious cycle.
