Wonderful Experience! Best PS in Indy!
WORTH IT$4,998
Astonished at how great I look after an implant removal procedure (no lift) with Dr. Wagner. The procedure went very smoothly and I'm VERY happy with the results...so is my husband! ^_^ I had implants for 13 years and needed to remove them due to back issues...After consulting with THREE other surgeons in Indianapolis, Dr. Wagner and his staff were BY FAR the most professional, respectful, informative, knowlegable and caring! His staff went out of their way to work with my doctor to ensure all was safe for the procedure! He took time to speak with me at length before surgery to ensure it would go smoothly...If it takes time to get a consult with Dr. Wagner, just wait!! It is TOTALLY worth the wait for a consult with Dr. Wagner!!!

Yes do it!!! I did and I feel wonderful
I'm looking to have mine removed and have several consults set up around Indy. I'm bummed it costs almost as much to have them taken out (worth no lift, no scar tissue removal) as it is to have them in. I wish I had known before spending the money on implants twice!
Yes, I was disappointed about the cost of explant too. Dr.Jeffrey Wagner at Wagner and Associates made it very smooth for me and actually quoted me less than others! He is extremely careful and thorough in his explanations...He will not work on patients that smoke regularly.
Whoops, hit the Post Comment button too soon...I do not personally recommend Dr. Stanley Harper at SHarper Plastic Surgery or Dr. Robert F. Jackson at Hamilton Surgical Arts. I had absolutely horrible experiences with them both (documented in my posts). Best of luck! Praying your journey is smooth, price much lower than anticipated and outcome perfect!
Okay thank you! Going to cancel my consultation at SHarper now. I had a bad experience with Turkle and a friend didn't listen and had an even worse one. It was heartbreaking. I am so glad we have this space to share!
Yes, this is a wonderful place to share! I actually almost scheduled with Turkle last summer but got a bad feeling from the lady scheduling and decided not to schedule. So glad I listened to my gut!...If you do see Dr. Wagner, I will tell you that his Coordinator, Kara Couch, was super helpful! She went out of her way to work with my doctor and make sure my surgery went smooth! She even helped me to settle a bill that came 2 months later from Community Anesthesia Associates...saved me from getting charged an extra $1254.00! Hope the consults go well and you find the perfect doctor!
Hi you look amazing!! I had my implants deflated a few weeks ago and will have them removed in two weeks. I had my implants in for 15 years and I must say that I have never felt as great as I do now that I have my natural breast back, it feels very liberating and I appreciate and embrace my body more than I ever have. I read through some of your comments and you mentioned that a good sports bra and compression is good for the recovery. I see that you shared some of the links for the compression but I’m not able to copy it. Do you mind sharing the link ago along with the sports bra you used. Also, the vitamin E oil you used for the scar. You look absolutely amazing ! Also, you mentioned that you’re a 34A but you seem to have a lot more breast tissue I was thinking you were at least a B cup. Either way you look amazing and you definitely don’t need a lift as your natural breast has bounced back nicely!
Hi There! Way to go taking that step to free your body from the burden of the implants! I too am so very grateful to be free of them! Exercise and daily life really are easier now!
Yes, the first month or two, I was just wearing some pretty normal bras (mostly front closure – fruit of the loom type) – paste this ASIN number into your Amazon search bar and it will take you right to the most common bra I wore - B074T66V6S…Then on top of the bra I would wrap myself using 6-inch ACE bandages to create good compression…I also used 6-inch Strive Compression bands to wrap over my sports bra (ASIN# B07MDXZWT4). Sometimes the black one just looked better under a blouse. It took some getting used to wrapping myself daily, but I got good at it LOL!
I also use collagen cream (B0175DVMMY) and an abrasion roller (B07PGBRQXH) over the skin to help the collagen get into the skin. The abrasion roller was probably over-kill but anything to help the body absorb and use collagen. Also, collagen works with Vitamin C to repair joints and other tissues, so using a serum or cream (B08BTH4B78) with vitamin C in it may help too.
Yes, once your scars are healed enough, you can rub a little Vitamin E oil on them to encourage healing (B0061GINBA).
Now I just wear whatever bras are most comfortable – no more wrapping! Yes, thank you for your kind words! You are correct! I now wear a 34/36B and my breasts feel like they’ve fluffed even more over the last few months! I am soooo grateful! I’ve also gotten almost all the feeling back in my left breast, where I think there was a bit of nerve damage from the surgeon scrapping out scar tissue. Nerve regeneration can take up to 18 months, so don’t lose hope if you experience that.
Warm wishes and speedy healing to you! ^_^

Three Months Post-Op! Doing Well!
It's been about 3 months now since I explanted. Doing well! I had a final appointment with Dr. Wagner in December 2020, and he gave me the all-clear to exercise and re-iterated that no lift or further procedure is needed. I look normal and am so very grateful! The incisions are gradually fading...I think rubbing Vitamin E oil on the incisions daily has helped! I fit into a 34A just fine and I'm perfectly happy! My husband says I look even better and definitely much healthier this way!...I'm still enjoying the decreased pressure on my spine. Less back pain for sure! I'm still not able to lie on my back or tummy without some pain in my lower back, but I'm working on healing that with yoga, diet, exercise, and supplementation. It's definitely easier to get up in the morning...less musculo-skeletal inflammation on the whole!...I must say it's a lot easier to jump and run too. I even feel less pressure on my knees! And I can do push-ups (on my knees) without my boobs feeling like they're going to explode! LOL! Yoga has been easier too!
If you're considering explanting, I can say it's definitely worth the hassle, and it's amazing how normal one's breast can look without a lift, especially with the tools of using compression with bandages, collagen cream, vitamin E, intermittent fasting to stimulate autophagy, and exercise with doctor's orders. The human body is amazing!...My only warning is to be careful about which surgeon you select. Watch out for doctors like Dr. Robert Jackson at Hamilton Surgical Arts in Noblesville, Indiana who seem to lack respect for women, display poor professionalism and seem to enjoy jerking patients' nipples - horrible experience in the consultation room (read below) ..Make sure your surgeon advocates using surgical drains (they're a pain, but worth it). Make sure your doctor will do his/her best to remove as much of the capsules and scar tissue that s/he can without causing damage to nerves...And do NOT drink water after midnight before the morning of the surgery! I learned the hard way that a DRY fast is necessary for surgery! So embarrasing...but quite evident how poorly Dr. Stanley Harper and his staff in Avon, Indiana communicate with patients! >_< Go for doctors like Dr. Jeffrey Wagner and Associates in Indianapolis, Indiana who are very professional, respectful and informative...and very cautious and communicative about what happens on surgery day! ...Happy Explanting to all those on the Journey! ^_^

Hi thanks for all the info! Why compression , how does that help? I’m working on getting my under the muscle implants out ASAP
Whoops I meant to respond directly to you. My reply is showing as a separate comment above. Compression is good for a few reasons. I think it helped a lot for me. And it wasn't too bad wearing bandages under a tshirt. If I needed to wear a black blouse, I would use a black Strive compression wrap underneath.
Compression is most important right after surgery. If you have drains, which are very much recommended, compression helps remove excess fluid and reduce swelling. It also increases blood flow which promotes healing...also keeps incisions and pectoral muscles in place while they heal. Finally, if you continue using compression for a month or more (according to your doctor's and your own intuitive guidance) this can encourage the retraction of sagging skin and tissue and generally help the breast tissue "fluff" naturally. My routine was putting on a soft sports bra and then wrapping this 6-inch Strive compression band around my chest (it gets easier with practice). At first my husband had to help me, but then I learned to quickly wrap it around myself. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MDXZWT4/refcm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_VVZ8YQGN861W3ZB2CASZ?_encodingUTF8&psc1
I would alternate between the Strive Wraps and the 6-inch bandages. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IQ5T114/refcm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_E8YY843PBMF96BGWAAA6?_encodingUTF8&psc1
The drains are a little difficult to deal with. My husband was a big help removing fluid and clotting from the tubing. But it is worth it to prevent issues with excess fluid building up.
Praying it goes smooth and easy for you! It is most surely worth it!

Five weeks post-op
It's been 5 weeks now since my explant (without a lift). For reference, I had Inamed submuscular cohesive silicone implants (397cc) that were more than 13 years old. The incisions are healing well. Swelling has gone down, and they are taking on more permanent characteristics. My left one is showing its true smaller size, but I'm okay with it. I am so grateful they look pretty normal...I was so worried I'd be really saggy and droopy. The only other qualm is that my pectoral muscles are still largely separated from my chest wall, so I still get that odd feeling when I flex them but it's not as pronounced/bad as with the implants. Also, I'm hoping to get more feeling back in my left breast. My right is fine but the left is missing some significant feeling. Even if I don't though, I am so grateful to have finally gotten the implants and 80% of the scar tissue/capsules out. I've had a lot less back pain and have been able to sleep on my back and lay on my stomach without pain. There's been a lot less pressure on my spine, and I'm less worried about my herniated disc. I also feel so much more free and less restricted in my upper body. I have not been cleared for upper body exercise yet but looking forward to it!

How do you know that your pectoral muscles are still separated from chest wall?
Well, when I got the submuscular implants, the surgeon had to separate the muscles from my chest wall to create the submuscular pocket. Dr. Wagner stiched the muscles down in a couple places but not completely. I believe his theory was that too much stitching of the muscles might impede healing, but I've got a follow-up appointment next week and I'll discuss it more with him....it just feels weird...I don't think it will cause any problems or keep me from toning my pex muscles.
Thanks for sharing your story, it is really helpful. I think your result is great. I just had a explant surgery today.
Way to go getting through the surgery!...The first several days of healing can be really unpleasant, but it gets much easier! Hang in there!
Your results are fantastic! Do you mind me asking how much your surgery was? I am in Indy as well.
Thank you! So grateful to be free of the implants! It was about $4998 last year with Dr. Wagner.
