Removal of 310cc Silicone Implants over the Muscle - Originally Tuberous
UPDATED FROM sberty
Day of treatment
1 day post op
I’m one day post op and the surgery went well. I was in quite a bit of pain and took a while to come round from the anathesia but they gave me morphine which did the trick, and now I’m feeling full of energy.
I was terrified to look at my breasts but plucked up the courage to look and I have to say.. I’m really pleasantly surprised! I’m happy to report that so far, they have not reverted to their tuberous shape. They look simply like my breasts post implants without the implants themselves. They are asymmetric and do look different. I call the perky breast ‘party’ and the droopy breast ‘pooper’ lol, but all jokes aside I really don’t care about the asymmetry. Breasts will be breasts and they’re not perfect! I knew I had gained breast tissue naturally on the right breast. I’m just really happy with the shape and the way they look. The explant has also rectified the double bubble deformity that had formed under my left breast.
In terms of symptoms, honestly I can’t say I have noticed any big changes yet. A few things however, include:
I feel and look like I’ve been on a diet.. I definitely look slightly slimmer on my legs and stomach. Even my back fat has gone down! I wonder if I’ve lost some inflammation already.
Feeling invigorated and full of energy. Something I haven’t felt in a long time.
Lip colour has changed and a dry patch that wouldn’t seem to shift has completely gone.
I’ll keep providing updates and let you know if anything else changes. I’ve been suffering with huge amounts of hair loss recently so hoping this will subside!
Post op pic included.

One of mine is visibly saggier and the skin has stretched quite a bit, but hoping it’ll tighten over the next few months! If you’re serious about getting them taken out I would just take the plunge, 9 times out of 10 women end up with better results than they thought they would
How do your breasts look now? I too had/have tuberous breasts. The implant helped with that, but still have a bit of a double bubble in both breasts - 18 years out from the first implant and 6 years out from the second set of implants. I would like to remove my implants but am worried about how my tuberous breasts will look now.

Having literally spent hours on RealSelf reading women’s stories, it’s only fair I do it myself. So here goes.
I have always felt extremely self conscious of my breasts. I had tuberous breasts and didn’t understand why they weren’t fuller on the bottom. I didn’t feel womanly. I went to see a surgeon when I was 18 and he told me that the only way to rectify the shape was to quite literally score the lower pole of my breast like you would a piece of meat. Then, with an implant, it would increase the fullness on the bottom. So, I went ahead and got implants in the summer of 2011. I have to say, he did a great job and the surgery really improved the shape of my breasts.
Fast forward 7 years, I’m now 26 and much more mature. I’ve had all kinds of health issues that have developed in the last few years, from PCOS, endometriosis, suspected thyroid issues, elevated LFTs, Psoriasis etc. In the last year however, I’ve developed a whole host of odd symptoms. Always cold, night sweats, hair loss, weight gain, heart palpitations, muscle ache, brain fog. I read about BII and the dots started to connect.. given that I have capsular contraction in both breasts, I think my body wants these implants out.
Anyway, to avoid making this too long, I am having my implants removed tomorrow with Guy Sterne. Given i had tuberous breasts prior to implants, he recommended a lift with fat transfer down the line. Naturally, he suspects A cup in left breast and B in other. I declined lift and fat transfer for a number of reasons. 1. I haven’t had kids yet. Why go through that when my breasts will change dramatically with pregnancy/breastfeeding (which I definitely want to do).
2. It’s invasive.. I just want to accept my body for what it is.
Guy says my breasts will be assymetrical but at the end of the day, who cares.
So, now for the pics. I’ve included pics pre implants and post implants. Once the implant removal is done and I feel comfortable, I’ll take pics.
I’ll be having enbloc capsulectomy, no lift.

Good luck hope all goes well please keep us posted I’m in the same boat but am too scared to sort them out
I’ve done an update. Happy to report no sign of tuberous breasts!
Great to hear. And super Great you had them removed. Blessings ...
I had mine removed 9 months ago. Happy I did it. But not happy with the outcome due to choosing the wrong surgeon. Ladies do your homework. Don’t let just any plastic surgeon do this surgery, many are good at putting implants in, but when it comes to reconstruction once removed, it may not be what they are good at. Blessings to you all.

Happy to hear your experience was positive. I am having my breast implants removed in a week. I decided not to get a lift because I don't want scare tissue to obscure my breast imaging. I have a high risk of breast CA in the family.

I just hope mine won’t end up sagging to my knees
