Breast implant removal and lift - I went from a DD cup to probably a C

ORIGINAL POST

Implant Removal & Lift

WORTH IT$23,000
When the regular occurrence of sharp nerve pain was occurring in my breast regularly. I decided it was time to take my 15 year old implants out.
Having just had a facial procedure with another doctor, with questionable results…I decided to go with a doctor that I knew whose work would be beyond reproach.
From the office staff, nurses and Dr. Chasen, I knew from the get go I was in great hands. It’s only been a month since the surgery, that I took my last picture. There definitely is more healing to come, but I’m very pleased with the shape of the breasts and the healing process. I went from a DD cup to probably a C, and much prefer the perkiness of my smaller breasts.

Looks great, even better than before IMHO. Congratulations on a wonderful outcome!
Hello your results look great. Did you get the capsule removal too ?
Yes, the capsule was removed as well.
Actually, I assumed the capsule had been removed, but your question prompted me to inquire with Dr. Chasen office…who inquired with Dr. Chasen. Below is the response that was provided:

“In summary, the decision to remove partial or whole capsule does not have to do with cosmetic outcome. In your case, he said that he did an anterior capsulectomy – he removed the front-most portion of the capsule – and allowed the back-most portion to stay attached to the chest wall where is sticks down nicely. The only time he removes the entire capsule is when the capsule shows signs of disease or the patient has BII (Breast Implant Illness). Often times removing the entire capsule can cause more trauma and post-operative complications; this would be worthwhile in a patient experiencing capsule-related illness, but is unnecessary in patients with a healthy capsule, like you had.”
That's interesting. Were yours under the muscle? Total capsule removal can be more iffy in that case especially if they're thin and super-adhered to the chest wall. I had entire capsules removed 3 weeks ago (not under muscle), and I can attest that it's fairly traumatic to the tissue. Lots of nerves trying to heal right now, and it's a pretty uncomfortable process. My implants were in a lot longer than yours and were ruptured, so that likely added to the misery factor. The main thing is that you're healing well, and look fantastic!
Thanks…mine were under the muscle. Recovery for me has been comfortable.
Awesome results. This is next on my list. Looking for a dr now…
Result look great. Did you replace your implants? If so what size and what were the size of original implants.
No, I didn’t replace the implants. For me it was time to let them go. :)
