Implants gone at 62 - After 22 years and breast cancer.

Hi RealSelf community. I have been reading this web site for over 2 years as I wanted to remove implants! Boy have I learned a lot here. Thanks to all of you who have shared with such honesty and unabashed reality!
I had a child very young with 32 AA boobs. Well they began “32 Longs” very soon after and as young as I was, I hated them. Never let anyone see them after an incident with a few friends while bending over I her “oh you have long thin boobies like cow udders”. Gee thanks.
At 40 I could afford getting implants and went for it. Not sure what I got size wise but thy were saline under the mussel and boy were thy nice! I was a 34 solid and perky C which fit me perfectly! And life went on @ weight gain after hysterectomy of 40 pounds and I was now a matronly 40 DD. Ugh. More ups and downs @ menopause and I found myself 70 pounds over weight and a 44 G. Hated that. This is when I started planning to remove them. They were so heavy and now well embedded under my arms and my own tissues “hanging off the implants” as it was described once. Weight loss plan got me down 50 pounds so I started consults and we ready in mid 2017 to get the work done when I was diagnosed with a DCIS (Breast cancer - safe zero) so I began a journey to remove the lump and radiation then Estrogen suppression RX. This stopped all thought of removing but only pushed it back. I did a consult before radiation with a reconstruction surgeon to get a new plan. He advices I need to wit at least 6 months and the skin is never the Sam but he would do the work. Dr Perry Johnson (Omaha, Nebraska) and I have to say he was awesome.
One year and one day later a clean mamo and implants were removed along with a lift. I threw in a tummy tuck cuz, well I could!
I am 9 days op and at 62 with a breast that had been cut on (twice) and radiation (and I am sure that implant had gotten harder) I never had any grand ideas to look 25 again. Not ever 45. I wanted the implants out and a little skin / fat off my abdominal area. Well - if I never get any better then I am today I am here to say that Dr Johnson AMAZINGLY GOOD! I think I could even wear a bikini! (I won’t but well dam it I think I could!
