A 50 Year Old Saying Goodbye to 25 Year Old Implants!
Free at Last! Goodbye 25 Year Old Implants!
It all started with a mammogram in mid January that displayed a rupture to my left implant. As soon as I got home I started my research to find a Plastic Surgeon. I turned to my doctor, family, friends, social media and newspaper articles for advice. I came to choose Dr. Sanders, a warm, hardworking genteel surgeon with artistic hands. Yes, he’s a Harvard Medical School graduate, but quite honestly, I just liked him as a fellow person.
At my consultation I met the lovely and essential Suzy Ortiz who booked me in. At Pre- op Nurse Karen went over everything and Danielle sorted out my paper work and full payment.
April 20th was theater day and I met Norman who is a delightful angel and took great care of me and Gladys , my fierce anesthesiologist that whipped up a wonderful cocktail of meds which I’m grateful helped me “miss the party.”
I’m home now, comfortable and watching movies my husband will never want to watch! Yay!!! No compromise these next few days!
I’m eating well with homemade soup, fresh fruit salad and smoothies with berries and pineapple that my hottie husband of 18 years made for me. Life is good and I’m very grateful to everyone who helped me at George H. Sanders M.D!
I will post pictures of before and after my surgery to help women who are considering this procedure. I haven’t seen my breasts yet, but I’m very happy to be rid of my implants! I am 50 now and what served me when I was in my 20’s doesn’t serve me now.
Oh! Big perk was that drains weren’t as big as I thought they would be!
I’ll post photos later. Evidently, they’re too big to post.
Before Photos
I’m eating right, drinking lots of water and taking Arnica pills and Bromelain for swelling.
I’m in good spirits and allowing my body to heal by lots of rest.
Implants Out
I slept well last night. Hardly any pain due to the medication I am taking. Using ice packs as well for swelling and drinking pineapple, strawberry and blueberry smoothies to help with healing as they’re natural antioxidants.
Nurse Karen told me to stay in bed, so that’s what I’m going to do. It’s important to not let the pain meds fool you. It’s still major surgery and you must give your body time to heal.

Also, when I did my consultation for my explant my PS gave me an ideas for what cup size I would be. Did your PS give you any idea what cup they think you’ll be? Sometimes after explanation you can be bigger than what you started out with naturally. I was surprised I went to a B. I was originally an A cup.
Also, I’m enjoying being smaller. I was a D before and I got tired of carrying that around.
Did you view your doctor’s work?
I was scared too, but know it will be ok. Just find a surgeon who you feel absolutely comfortable with and is board certified.
I would just focus on a an explant and ask if you need a lift. Heal for a year and see if you can get a fat transfer if you want a fuller look. It’s funny, when I was younger I wanted bigger boobs, but now that I’m 50 I prefer them smaller. I felt for me, bigger boobs made me look more matronly. After your explant there is a good chance you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

Thank you!
There is an abyss between the medical community and women talking about BII symptoms.
Do you regret getting the procedure when you look back?
