she did the impossible

Mid-April 2024, I woke to find I had a bulge/lump on my right breast. It was painful and scarily noticeable. Given how seldom we hear of Rupture or "Explantation" I found myself with tears in my eyes doing a ton of research in a very short period of time on something I didn't think could really happen. After an untold number of Dr profiles, not to mention the scary post-op photos, I contacted Dr. Farah Khan. She immediately calmed my stress and walked me through the scenarios as she was ordering my labs and imaging. She found I had an extensive extra-Capsular rupture of my rt 500cc Mentor Smooth Round High Profile Gel Implant and severe grade IV contracture with calcification of my left 475cc Mentor Smooth Round High Profile Gel implant as well as my right one. Augmentation Date December 14, 2012 by a different Dr out of state. Dr. Khan quickly tested, verified the extent of the damage and had me in surgery within 3 weeks which is not common, I know. I think it is important to add that I was not in optimal health and due to recent unrelated illness I had lost a lot of weight in a short period, leaving Dr. Khan very little breast tissue to work with on a less than prime patient. I was a difficult surgery to say the least.
I don't know how she did it! Dr Khan is a miracle worker and if you haven't had to suffer removal or a rupture then you may not understand what I mean when I say your surgeon and their team make all the difference! Emotionally, mentally and surgically. She took a very difficult situation and did the improbable! It has been officially 45days since I had my implants removed. I had general anesthesia and a nerve block by Dr Khan's Amazing Anesthesiologist Dr. Jason Morningside! I had a lot of fear as I was NOT USING ANY PAIN MEDS! After Surgery I was groggy but awake and not in any pain. All I felt was a compression wrap around my chest which felt like a snug sports bra and the drains against my side! With-in about 2 hours we had arrived safely home and gotten situated. My Husband was amazing, I ate then slept. I followed Dr. Khans printed Instructions to the letter, after all she is the Dr! I woke the next day and took an Ibuprofen as directed but still no pain. In fact, I didn't get more than a little uncomfortable a few times, really just with the drains but NEVER was I hurting which was a big suprise!

Overall, Dr. Khans steady hands, precise suturing and ability to take her time and save as much of my breast tissue as possible, are the reason I feel like myself again. She is compassionate and beyond capable and although i am keeping this very watered down, she can tell you just how complex it was and can show you the pics of why I Believe, no... I KNOW at least for me, she is one of, if not the absolute best surgeon when it comes to a difficult en bloc capsulectomy/explant like mine!
