Dr. Lee did a great job three and a half weeks ago on my explant and capsule removal. I am happy with the results. The procedure was relatively low pain and I was back to work in a week. Each day my breasts look better and I feel amazing.

We had to take from savings, but i felt it was worth my health. Care Credit is a great option (no interest if you have it paid off in 1 year. I've heard people driving for Uber one day a week even to raise the money. Sad we had to work to get rid of an illness in the "great" US of A.

Hi! I had my consult with him and liked what he said ready to make my apt but I was offered twilight or general. What did you go with?

Hi:) I belong to a Breast Implant Illness Facebook group,,, peps have said general is better cuz it could take hours to do proper Explant Capsuletomy,,,the site also lists Dr.s that are recommended for this particular procedure

I did twilight. It was a lighter sedation and I can even remember a few things I said during it but I was less sick when it was finished and that was nice.

Did you go under general or twilight

General anesthesia is required in order to relax the muscles, especially if your implants are under the muscle. You might get away with twilight if it’s over the muscle. My explant of 525 silicone was done under general. Took my surgeon about an hour to explant the silicone implants with the capsules. Ladies, make sure your capsules are removed! It’s a health imperative. Do not let anyone convince you that they will be reabsorbed by the body! It will not. The body created it to isolate the foreign body that is the implant. It will keep the capsule encased and probably will need to come out eventually anyways because capsules tend to calcify and contract. Meaning it will form a tumor like body that will shrink and pull tissues attached to it. I’m an OR nurse, this is what happens with foreign body objects; the body forms capsules, adhesions, benign tumors to defend itself from things that do not belong in our bodies. Ok, done ranting. Best of luck with either way you prefer. Twilight sedation is a lot easier on the body, and should be cheaper. General anesthesia is better if working with muscles that need relaxing and if things go bad, intubation (general) is preferable.
