Capsular contracture chest pain - remove capsule & finish with auto implant breast lift
I am so fortunate to meet Dr. Kamakshi Zeidler and to have her perform my breast surgery. I would recommend her, without a doubt , to anyone who is looking for a plastic surgeon whom specializes in breast reconstruction, revision and/ or augmentation surgery,
Here is some background info on my story. At age 24 I had silicone/ saline implants placed. I liked the outcome and never really experienced any trouble. Fast forward in time about the year 2015, I was in a car accident and had air bag and seat belt trauma in my chest area and that may have caused the issue (implant rupture) looking back now.
My story begins a year ago, when I noticed that I would have a bad chest pain for a few seconds and then it would go away. The pain was a crushing pain and I would stop any action I was doing at the time. The pain would get my attention . At the time I was 52 years old and I had spoken with few people whom mentioned that hormones may cause additional chest pain. Even when I got my mammogram the technician said it was not uncommon at this age for your breast to be uncomfortable or to experience pain during hormone changes .
I asked a local plastic surgeon to take a look at my breast because I was having pain he immediately prescribed an MRI to be taken. The MRI showed that there was a rupture in one of my breasts.
We discussed having a breast reduction procedure and while discussing the surgery , we had a conversation about the risks and how the skin can experienced Necropathy . After the surgery if the tissue where it has been cut , does it heal properly there is a possible risk that the tissue can die, if it doesn’t heal properly . I figured the doctors tell you all the bad risks so you know what you’re getting into and recognized this as such.
When I asked the doctor what percent is the risk of necropathy happening , he said 10%
He said your case it is identical to another case he had experienced and it was the one time this has ever happened to him, ( the patient experienced necropathy post surgery) , so now your at 100% risk possibly.
That comment scared me and I called my husband
and he reminded me that I can always get a second opinion until I feel good about the surgeon for this surgery.
When I called the Aesthetix office, the staff mention that Dr. Zeidler specializes in breast surgery and that helped put my mind to ease a little. I have been reading about her accomplishments in the a “New Beauty “magazine and I was really excited to have a chance to meet Dr Zeidler. When I did meet her, I was fully impressed with her experience, her bedside manner and her ideas about how to tackle the surgery. She informed me that the chest pain that I was experiencing was capsular contracture around the ruptured implant. The chest pain was what was happening as a result of the rupture in my implant. The tissue was trying to squeeze the implant or reject it. I got my answer from her as to why this was happening to me . Originally when I presented the pain in my chest, to the other doctor he said he did not know why I have pain but he can remove the implant rupture and perform a breast reduction. My concern wasn’t about size, it was about the pain.
Dr. Zeidler talked about her auto implant procedure where she takes my own tissue and uses that as an implant because the size my breasts were large enough and I had enough tissue to do this procedure I could’ve had a new implant placed but I decided against that and go for a more natural look. If you’re interested in augmentation, I definitely recommend Dr. Zeidler here as well , for this procedure. With her expertise in surgery and she also works on the board with a lot of implant manufacturers to make sure the implants are at the cutting edge and are much better than they were many many years ago for safety and esthetics . The only reason I decided against it was I was older and I just didn’t want anything else in my body anymore at this point. It was just a personal choice both choices are optimum but for me I want to go natural. Dr Zeidler’s discussion with me about the potential with surgery light scaring would be a lollipop incision opposed to a large anchor shape option offered by my previous surgeon. This also showed me her techniques were more advanced surgery wise.
I knew that I was in good hands when a week before my surgery Dr. Zeidler had just come back from Italy where she taught plastic surgeons from all over the world her special technique that she was doing on me and I was so proud that she was my doctor and I felt in excellent hands. I can’t tell you how important it is to see Dr Zeidler , if breast surgery is something you’re looking into.
Fast forward 3 months post surgery
This is the best procedure that I have ever experienced. Dr Zeidler did identify that one of my implants was completely ruptured and this wouldn’t hav been a very good thing for my body, if left untreated. I received a breast lift and auto implant procedure where my breasts are no longer down towards the ground but actually perky and looking natural . I cannot say enough good things about Dr Zeidler . I can only write this review and spread the word about how wonderful and experienced Dr Zeidler is and how she provides cutting edge surgery procedures to her patience with outstanding results.
