My breasts have a better shape than expected

ORIGINAL POST

I Had a Great Experience

WORTH IT

I have breast implants for the last 20 years and I decided to have my breast implants removed as one of them was broken, which I believe can be very toxic for the body especially, if left longer when it will eventually start leaking out of the capsule into the body. I was also experiencing a bit of pain, discomfort and weakness on the pectoral area when exercising.

My experience with Doctor Choy was very good, at first you think I should look for at least 2 opinions from different doctors, but once I met Dr Choy I felt very convinced about his work and experience on this procedure, which not all plastic surgeons are familiar with. Make sure to look for someone who has done this procedure before and has enough experience with it.

One of the more difficult decision about the surgery was if I should do a Breast Lift or not, and Dr Choy will give you and advice but ultimately the decision is yours. Your surgeon should have an idea about the need of a Breast Lift, based on the size of your implants, your skin elasticity, etc. Although, it is very hard for the doctor to know how your breast will look like after the explant. There is no guarantee about how they will look, and Dr Choy is very honest about this, he will show you real photos of his work and you will get an idea of every possibility, which I think is great so you are prepared for the results after explantation.

In my case, my breast implants were quite small, I followed Dr.Choy’s advice and I did not do a Breast Lift. The result was really good, my breast looks very natural and have better shape than expected. I am very happy I listened to him, I now have a faster recover, which will allow me to return to work faster, since my job is very active and involve lifting and using my arms/chest a lot. I also do not have to deal with extra scarring on my breast.

I have to say also his team is extremely good, from the receptionist to nurses. They are all well informed and if they do not know the answer, they will find it for you by the end of the day.

My experience was very different, I had surgery under Covid 19 restrictions, which means I could not stay overnight in the hospital. It was all very good even though I went home same day, with no issues at all.

So far, I am very happy I did this as fast as I could. It has just been 12 days now after the surgery and I feel great. My chest feels lighter and better, regarding the pectoral weakness I can not say anything yet as I am still not exercising, but I am sure my body will feel more balanced now.

thanks for your review. Your breasts do look great. Do you know how many cc's you had in each implant?
I can't remember exactly as I had them done about 20 years ago but it was around 222-260cc no more than that.
Thanks! I'm about to have mine removed, so your answer helps me imagine what mine might look like. Had them done 30 years ago and only 175cc in each. Remember this because the surgeon had to encourage me to go bigger than 150 as I wouldn't see a difference otherwise...
Also thoso photos were taken one week post surgery. Now i am almost 3 weeks and they look more even. On the photos you can see the left side bigger as it was more inflamed. Now they look much better.
Do you think your implants were worth it? I’m barely a 32A and want them done but I’m scared of bii and not having money to remove it’s so much more expensive
It is a very personal decision, but I can't say I was not happy with them while I have them. Now when I removed them I did not want to replace them as I did not want to go through the same issue again if one of them gets broken or capsulated. But maybe you can try to get fat grafting (transfer). As your doctor about it, It might be an option for you if you do not want to take the risk of having to removed or replace your implants in the future.
Was the yellow one the broken one??? Holy cow those colors are huge difference! Did you have mammogram or traumatic event that caused the issue that you are aware of? Are they saline or silicone?
They are silicone. I did not have any traumatic event. I just decided to have them check as I was feeling a bit of discomfort and some difference symptoms that might have been associated with this.
Just curious, what are the pictures of the implants? Which pair was yours? The crumpled up ones or the red "new" looking ones? Why are you showing so many different ones? Also, can you post a pic of your breasts now, several weeks after? Thanks again for sharing your story.
The red is the capsule around the implant before it was taken off. You can see it shriveled up next to the implants. I’m curious what made one discolor so much more over the years.
thanks for the explanation!
