My journey has been amazing and I feel so much better already

ORIGINAL POST

Explant

WORTH IT
First and foremost, I had my breast augmentation done here about five years ago, which turned out amazing. However, as time passed, I decided that I wanted to explant for a multitude of reasons. After tons of research, I knew it was time, so I reached out to Dr. Greenwald and I had my consult. He was very attentive and explained everything thoroughly. He listened and answered all my questions. He suggested no lift and also wait to see how I feel a few months from now, and then decide if this was needed. Glad I listened because it’s been less than 3 weeks and my body has been healing so nicely. I have to admit I was scared of what I would look like (because of what you see and hear online ) but in reality it wasn’t bad at all. I had 420cc and yet my breast tissue has already been “fluffing” ! I have to say I like how my breasts look now, even more than with implants. I also forgot how soft real breasts feel like. I am sure there are women searching for doctors who explant and I would have to say to look no further. My journey has been amazing and I feel so much better already. A lot of other surgeons who explant suggest a lift and/or fat transfer during the explant and sometimes you just have to trust your body and the process ! Remember, when your body is telling you- go with your gut feeling !

Hey! Did you go for a full capsulotomy or en bloc... also which symptoms did you have that have gone away? I have had a few issues since getting breast implants and want to get them removed :)
Hi ! En bloc was the proposed idea. However, I trusted Dr. Greenwald and I said get what you can out!! So 95% of the capsule was removed. Some was very thin and on lining of rib cage/ too close for comfort. So I trusted his judgment. I suffered from vertigo for three years which now I haven’t had an episode (it was debilitating) went to the ENT, Neurologist, rheumatologist, the list goes on. Yet, it couldn’t be explained - In addition, extreme fatigue, joint pains and inflammation. Such symptoms are gone !!!! It’s only been six months roughly and I feel different. I truly believe I had BII and now my
Body is functioning back to normal. I can’t express how different I feel ;) Its day and night !!!! If I didn’t take them out I would have continued to suffer. I had them in for 6 years and it all started about three years back. I am
Glad I went with my gut and not what everyone was saying (getting older, hormones, bc you have kids, etc….) blah blah blah !!!! listen to your body;) and do what you think is best :)
Thank you for writing this. I am having my consultation next Monday, and I'm feeling ready to have my implants removed. I appreciate you saying to trust your gut and listen to what your body is telling you. I am finally listening. It has been 15 years with my implants.
I’m sorry I’m seeing this message so late :(I’m hoping the consult went well ;) just to add it will be a year this June since by explant and my life has changed drastically in a positive way !! I wish you all the best on this new journey ! I’m happy you went with what you feel in your gut -because no one is more in-tuned with your body than you!!!
