30 Year Old Silicone Implants
And so it begins. I've wanted to remove my implants for many years now, but had menopause-related vertigo for the past 3 plus years and was worried about anesthesia. I'm ready now.
If anyone has had silicone implants for as long as I have (or close to it) and have explanted, can you please reach out? I have some questions and would love to have your insights.
I'll take before pictures closer to the date (April 16, 2020). My surgeon is pretty booked, hence the spring surgery. I'm okay with it as I'll have time to get in shape both inside and out.

Having my 30 year old silicone implants out next month- cannot wait!! I have a rupture on right side and leakage- so even if I wanted to keep them- not an option! At this stage of my life, I don’t care how they will look- I’ll just be happy to not have them anymore.

Thank you so much for reaching out. Please keep in touch and tell me how your operation goes. I’m sure that’s it will be a huge success! I’ll keep you in my thoughts. Good days to come..freedom really.

I had my 45 year old implants removed three weeks ago. I had massive damage to the right breast and implant due to a bad fall a year ago. Large hard capsule on right breast leaking implants both sides. Couldn’t even get a mammogram; had to get an mri and that’s when I saw all the damage. Post surgery wore drains for a week and am mending. I am 70 years old and was shocked to see my “real breast’s”! It was as though someone had taken an ice cream scoop and scooped my breasts out. It will take some time to get used to the sight and even at three weeks out they are beginning to get some shape back. I don’t think I will have new implants. I think I will learn to be happy with my own natural itty bitties! Miraculously I now have some cleavage which I never had before! If anyone wants to comment I will be happy to continue with my healing story as the weeks progress.

Your story gives me hope. No situation is insurmountable. I have to tell you, it is stories like yours that has given my the strength and courage to have my implants removed. I have opted not to replace. I want to feel my natural body and hug people straight on!

I had mine in for about 28 years. I am post breast explant surgery 8 weeks. Yes it was a bit of a shock when I first saw them. I was only a A/small B and went to a double DD. But I am very happy and feel better and they do fluff out a bit and will continue within this next year. Your body reacts to positive messages. I assure myself each day that I will continue to heal and fluff up. I woke up from my surgery excited to have them out. I took the pain pill only once and Tylenol only once and that was more for my back since I could only sleep in recline position for a couple of weeks. I could now take a full shower, my bandages just fell off with the healing. I am very happy.

Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience. Can you lift your arms above your head, lift weights (how much), play sports, etc. I am on a golf team in the spring and am worried that I won't be able to participate as I don't know how long I have to heal before I can workout/play sports.

Getting ready...finally
I was originally scheduled my explant surgery for April 2020, but COVID worries had me reschedule to October 20th. I meet with my surgeon tomorrow, armed with many questions.
I have to say, I have avidly read many of the details from so many who have gone on a similar journey. I am in awe of the strength and smart decisions women are making to improve their health. I will take a before photo the day before surgery and will fill you all in after.
Praying for steady hands and surgical brilliance. I'm ready.

Thank you so much. The surgeon I chose is called the "surgeon's surgeon" at Massachusetts General Hospital. My cousin had a mastectomy with her as her surgeon and then for her reconstruction surgery. My cousin is single and chose reconstruction after mastectomy. I've been married for 35 years and just want to be free of the implants for good. I told the doctor today that I will not have a lift at this time, but may choose to do so in the future. I'll be sharing a "before" picture directly before the operation.

Anticipation- day prior to surgery
Picture of my breasts with implants day before Operation.
I’m feeling okay as I just had finished a reading with my spiritual reader the day before explant. Apparently, my father came through with messages about taking care of myself instead of focusing on others (which is what I do). Her message to me was to set all of my worries on paper then burn them. This releases all fears and worries to your Angels.
Thank you for sharing the beginning of your journey! Looking forward to your update!
